vRS 2.0T FSI - Stuttering at idle and on acceleration up to 2000 rpm...

Featured Replies

Hoping to tackle this soon.  Couple of questions...

1) Injector seals are pricey! £30 each!!  Should I just swallow the fact and cough up £120, or is it unlikely I'll need to replace them? How likely is it' I'll need to clean the nozzles, and how likely is it that they'll come out with the IM?

2) Can you recommend me good cleaner (seafoam?) and a tool to remove the oil filter?  Can I simply get a ratchet bit that fits the type of filter, or am I better getting a universal one?

3) should I be doing this as a newbie?  I know the main components in the engine bay, and I'm technically minded so I'm careful and not completely clueless :)

I'm sure I'll have more questions near the time!

Have you had the revised PCV?

  • Coilpacks were replaced a couple of months before I bought the car by the previous owner trying to resolve this issue. Have the Skoda receipt. Was part of the reason I got the car cheap! On the commo

  • I'd guess at a coked up inlet manifold.

Me again.  Sorry to be a nag, could really use some advice regarding my questions above.  If I'm going to do it, I'd like to tackle it soon before it gets too cold. Also, what do people think of this method? It involves using the PCV vacuum to draw in the cleaner into all 4 chambers.  Would this help clean the injector nozzles too despite PCV not flowing through them?

Guys please, really need advice/answers on this please.  Don't want to just start ordering bits without someone who knows better advising first.

I need advice on any extra bits n bobs I'll need.  Shall I clean the inlet flap, valves etc., and then also run seaform from the fuel tank? Or shall I use the method above via the PCV feed?

What about penetrating oil for tight/rusty bolts etc?  What size oil filter removal tool do I need? Do I need an injector removal tool?

Please help as I'm wanting to this before it gets too cold/dark.

Think I have the same problem. When I first started the car in the morning it's usually fine. And if I drive at real low revs. But if I drive bit harder when I pull up/stop revs go between 900-1300. Had reading on it when I had engine management lights come on. It has charcoal and misfire faults. But sometimes when I stop revs stop up near 2500 until I apply handbrake

Hi guys,

I would be glad if someone could help me with a issue i have with my skoda.

I'll try to write it down as good as i can.

I have a 2006 Skoda Octavia RS 2.0tfsi. The issue i have is that it's consuming oil, about 1 litre on 1500km. When it's cold it can give a white smoke , but when its warm i havent noticed any smoke.

The other thing I noticed is that it have a messy, yellow brown oilcap/cork. I had the mechanic to check compression on cylinders, and noticed that on second cylinder there was a low compression. it was about 3 bar under the rest of the cylinders. The strange thing is that otherwise the car is working fine, no problem. It has no problem with accelerating at all...

Have someone else had same problems or can anyone help? The mechanic was wondering if there is a problem with pistonrings...

Hope u understand what i tried to write...
