Why isn't there a specific sub forum for this sort of stuff; lots of fora I use have a "coffee lounge" for those that want to post and communicate on non car reated or off topic stuff - been holding off on all this for a bit but it's getting silly...

  • Right, I wasn't going to get involved in this thread because in my opinion its making a big deal about nothing much. I have posted nothing more than a 'oo er missus' or a 'oh matron'. I hardly think

  • Eh? What's the problem?

If we could have a choice between eliminating all risque humour so that noone can take offence & the whole world lightening up a bit, I know which option I would choose.

Those are not the only two options though - as always, most people would be happiest with something in between - a compromise. On the one side, continued tolerance of those more interested in double entendres than posting about the Yeti. On the other, a touch less determination to turn so many threads into second-rate Benny Hill sketches. There is no need to demonise anyone; it is an opportunity to collectively improve the forum for everyone.

"Drive it Day" tomorrow ... off in the MG.

there is, it's the "off topic" chat section.

precisely for this very purpose

Just checked out the "off topic chat" forum, more out of intrigue than anything else (did not know there was one - like most others I presume). Anyway, first thread I clicked on looks like saving me £60pa on my Sky subscription, so it is not all bad. Have a look, you might be surprised what's on there.

Quite how people could miss the existence of it escapes me, it's sixth from the top when you enter the site, the Yeti section is number 43 on the list.

There's one in the Yeti forum too.

I created it for the very purpose.

The title could be a little clearer as to the content.

Edit: changed to better reflect the content.

But there's no point putting a response to posts in other threads in there as they'll loose all context.

Children should be used to protect us from those we cannot argue with using logic (and not heard).

Graham, tell me about it! oufffff!

chaps, you should get out more, there's information about all sorts of things in your yeti which also apply to other Skodas and even things which are non Skoda related.

shocking I know but it's true.

You'll be telling us we "should" be attending all the various meets, too!!

Such schoolmistressly lecturing is unbecoming of you Domhnall... ... ...

It's precisely because I do "get out more" that I go straight to the section that I'm interested in. It takes me long enough to wade through that ... don't have time for all the other shizz as well :sun:

You misunderstood me, just trying to be helpful. but when people ask why there's no off topic section when there already is one it makes you realise people are not realising that these things already are there.

I find the fastest way to use the forum is to click on the unread content link, scan the list and open the ones that look interesting. Often I have no idea what model of skoda (if any) they're listed under.

Maybe it was your tone of your post in your OP that got up people's backs - I know that it did mine. Perhaps you could have made your point in a more personable/amusing way, such as your post in # 97, and not use phrases such as ..."Quite how people could miss the existence of it escapes me".
2. Ignore user function. Using this you can block posts from daft/annoying/trolling members if you want to

I'd always assumed there wasn't an ignore function here 'cos I'd never found it - had a proper look and there it is. . Marvellous - thanks chief. :)
