Carry on Yeti

Featured Replies

I'd always assumed there wasn't an ignore function here 'cos I'd never found it - had a proper look and there it is. . Marvellous - thanks chief. :)

I always wondered why so few replied to my posts, it all makes sense now! I think I need a t-shirt with an 'ignore button' on it, Anyone interested in a group buy???

  • Right, I wasn't going to get involved in this thread because in my opinion its making a big deal about nothing much. I have posted nothing more than a 'oo er missus' or a 'oh matron'. I hardly think

  • Don't take offence, but it could equally be argued that some members are trying to force others to be serious and not be 'lighthearted and jovial' for fear of offending others. I'll say it again, ign

  • Eh? What's the problem?

Maybe it was your tone of your post in your OP that got up people's backs - I know that it did mine. Perhaps you could have made your point in a more personable/amusing way, such as your post in # 97, and not use phrases such as ..."Quite how people could miss the existence of it escapes me".

again, apologies if that was perceived as being rude, I was just plain baffled that's all. It has never occurred to me to save one part of the forum as a favourite.

If I might offer up another tip (which people can take or leave as they see fit), I find the best way to browse the site when short of time (as I often am) is to click on the "new content" button top right. You can then filter the content in a number of ways, everything, just stuff you've taken part in, just stuff you started, you can filter by time, or whether you've already read it. All sorts of ways.

Ideal for people like Bob who's always out buckling his swash (or whatever nautical types do) and who have limited time available.

(hopefully this post hasn't offended anyone)

That is more like it Domhall.

Now......where were we?

I have bookmarks for the Yeti forum, my content (from the drop-down menu widget on your member name at the top right) and new content. That's the order I tend to read things in. I also look through some of the other forums every now & then to see if I've missed anything interesting first time round. There's a lot of stuff here!

The ignore function (Manage ignore prefs from the drop-down menu) works well!

Is it safe to come out of hiding yet? :bandit:

Oh dear, I shouldn't have said 'come out', someone will get upset now :giggle:

Well that depends where or what or why you are "coming out" of Mike! :giggle:

It's all right ... Scrumfiddler Owens, Gareth Thomas ... we've realised what kind of men Wales is made of, and even the sheep are no longer afraid.

And rumour has it that people from Norfolk have 6 toes because they're "friendly" with their sisters, so careful Bob. :giggle::sweat:

Steady now Bob, these days we have to be so careful mentioning names. He may try and take you to court and fleece you :x:giggle:

Mothers advise their sons in Norfolk "Don't you go marrying no virgin bor, if she in't good enough fer her brothers, she in't good enough fer yew".

"Yew"?

Full circle back to welsh sheep :giggle:

And a bor?

Its turning into a farmyard in 'ere :)

Now stop horsing around

As was the ever the case, it is always the English 'gentlemen' who insist on perpetuating this fallacy of red blooded Welsh men and their love of sheep.

Us proud Welshmen on the other hand, realise that you need some way to keep warm in the wild Welsh winter. And it benefits the taste of the end product to be loved and cherished during its lifetime.

Of course we keep all the best, most tender lamb for ourselves and only export the tough bits of scrag end that didn't get a 'cwtch' in the winter to England and beyond.

Cwtch: Welsh word for an affectionate hug. There's no literal English translation, but its nearest equivalent is "safe place". So if you give someone a cwtch, you're giving them a "safe place".

"English gentlemen" isn't that an Oxymoron Mike?

Well I think the last 5 letters of that word may well apply.

Us Celts got to stick together! :bandit:

reminds me of the not the nine o clock news sketch, "come home to a real fire, buy a holiday cottage in Wales"

I got a strange image of the Welsh version of Kobe beef when I read that...

Ah yes, but we have our own Welsh Black beef for that!

And your point is?

Perhaps you may find a site which most suits you in software coding or hobby electronics?

Going off topic is part of internet discourse which many enjoy, sorry you don't.

I thought "cotswoldlad" was joining in with the general absurdidness of the conversation.

I think he was !

But as usual 'sad cowards' hidden behind their laptops (who are probably not even old enough to drive a car nevermind own a Yeti) decide to publicly beat him up on a forum for......making a comment. But then again that seems to happen on every thread....by the same (i have got 20000 posts to my name) people . Well done ! Top on the class ! Great advertisement for this site and the Yeti.

I'm not sure whether you are agreeing with me or not, but as one who has well over 2000 postings on this Forum, I do find your comments above to be slightly OTT.

I can assure you that JCP and Dom are well over driving age and certainly do own Yeti's
