The Golf isnt cheap but you get a proper LSD and to spec the BM to a similar sort of level youre looking at nearer 35k maybe more. V few people would buy a base spec m135i as its standard spec isnt anything really to write home about. Dont know about the new S3.

I'd rather have one of these than a Golf GTI, far superior performance!

Yeah i'll give you that one, the black one is particularly nice!

The new Audi S3 doesn't have an LSD but does have 4 wheel drive (and 296hp) but the M135i is rated as being better to drive.

A mate of mine has the new S3 and it's blindingly fast.

Putting aside options etc for a moment, looks like an S3 can be had for not that much more than a new vRS.

If I was in the market purely for a fast hatchback, fun car and top notch drivers car then the Golf GTI would be my choice every time over an Octavia VRS. Unless I needed the greater interior space.
