Felicia Exhaust Mounting Circlips

Featured Replies

I am going through the process of replacing all the rubber exhaust mountings on my 1.3 Felicia. They have all either perished or been replaced with incorrect parts a 'VW Specialist' local garage. Does anyone know where I can buy the circlips which secure the rubbers onto the chassis brackets?

I have read forums which suggest everything should stay in place without them, but having had the back box fall off while doing 70mph down a dual carriageway (luckily no-one was behind me) I'm keen to get this right.

I will have a look in shed as I just welded new back box on and collected some off scap cars

You can get them from the dealer from for pennies each.

The old ones can be a little stubborn to remove as they are often surrounded with years of crud. If you've yet to get them off, I found poking a metal rod (i.e. screwdriver, small chisel) through it and levering it against the car body pinged them off nicely.

The new ones don't go in all that easily either and require use of a hammer I found.

Part No.: 6U0253678A

As above, they are about 70p from the dealer, I know for definite that they are still available because I bought some a month ago.

the other interesting thing too is that a set of new genuine skoda exhaust mounting rubbers is less than £2 if I recall for the whole set of 3.

Thats useful to know, I've been paying £2 for one crap one from a local exhaust place!

Thank you for all your help guys, foolishly the dealer was the one place I never thought to look! The part number is particularly helpful

Glad you're sorted mate.

Getting the part numbers yourself is a good idea as the dealers often order the wrong part. If you give them the wrong part number, then it's your fault, not theirs, thats the way I see it.

Why not register an account on http://www.vagcat.com/ if you haven't already, and then you can access the parts catalogue at your leisure.
