Bloody oil leak! Poss Oil filter housing?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Started stripping my poor car down to change the cam belt and find the source of the oil on my drive.

Its a 55 plate BLT engined VRS.

Thought it might be the sump gasket but on closer inspection the oil is all around the front of the sump under the alloy oil filter housing/cooler block and is running around the join of engine to gearbox.

Just wondered it this is a common thing and also what gasket or method is used to seal the oil filter housing to the block?

An oil and filter change is on the cards anyway so once the oil is drained I could sort the housing.

Cheers for any help and info guys.

Luke
