Tom's Silver Fabia vRS

Car's getting more interesting now mate. B)

Be good to see how the LEDs do. It's one of those things i've always considered doing but haven't gone much further with, like a lot of things. :D

Where did you fit the LEDs??

  • Thanks Charlie   So after going to Prept last night I knew I wanted to give the Fab a good proper clean today.    Bought the clay mitt and prep shampoo from Halfords this morning so I could get s

Cheers dude, it does seem like I didn't really do anything for months and then fitted quite a few modifications over the last couple of months.

I know what you mean mate.

Fitted them to the left hand side upright. Will get a photo tonight after work when it's dark :)

As promised a photo of the boot complete with new LED strip.

Not a drastic difference but still an improvement.

Looks good.

Having been thinking about it since reading this earlier, i was thinking of doing something on the bottom of the parcel shelf in mine but i'd need to have a connector in the wiring in case i need to take the parcel shelf off. We'll see if i ever get round to it. :D

  • Author

Cheers dude :)

That does sound like a good idea, it's just doing it well and getting the connector working right. Doable just fiddly I reckon.

I'm thinking about adding another strip similar to the one I did today but on the right hand side. And maybe a strip along the bottom edge of the front of the boot, near the catch.

Lets see if I get round to it.

I think someone has put some near the catch area but can't remember who.

I'd say start with the strip on the right and see if you need any in the centre.

Yeah I was thinking I'd start with the right hand side and see how well that works. Then if needs be fit some to the centre.

Want to get some fitted to the front footwells as well. Not too sure how easy it is to remove the a pillars though, to connect the wires to the interior switch.

Not too sure. I'm sure someone posted about having done this the other day. Can't remember who again. :D

A pillar removal's a doddle, it's just those U clips, Start from the top and work down with a trim removal tool or a sturdy plastic spatula :)

Cool, sounds easy enough then.

Do you know if there's a guide on here? Just wanted some photos of it being done.

Also is the headlining easy enough to pull away at the top near the windscreen so I can run a couple of wires to the interior light?

Cheers lads.

Great progress, I didn't lower the Fabia until 15 months after purchases, lol I had the coilovers already too!

  • Author

Thanks mate :)

Haha maybe I didn't wait too long then! You had the coilovers the whole time? I couldn't have standed having them that long and not fitting them!

Could be worse, i've had mine 9 1/2 years and never lowered it, never felt the need. :D

Bought some Eibachs/Bilsteins in September and haven't fitted them yet. ;)

  • Author

Haha I get not lowering it mate, not to everyone's taste. They should never had made the arch gap that big in the first place.

Cool, it would annoy me to have them that long without fitting them!

Getting them on soon though bud?

March hopefully. B)

I've never bothered lowering before as i take my car to Wales, Scotland, Lakes, etc and didn't want to scrape the bottom too much when i go "off roading"!! :D

  • Author

Sounds good dude :) fitting them yourself?

That's fair enough, the Fabia is made for "off roading"! You won't be going too low with springs anyway will you?

No, just the natural Eibach drop. Only about 25mm, so nothing like yours. :D

Not doing it myself, roped a couple of members to do....help. ;)

  • Author

25mm will improve the look a lot mate :)

Don't even know how much mine is actually lowered by.

Haha nice, sounds good. It's alright once you know how and have all the tools.

Got home from uni early today and the weather looked half decent so I thought I'd give the Fabia a clean.

If anyone follows me on Instagram you might already know  :giggle:

While the snowfoam was dwelling I arranged the bits I was going to use:

A quick shot of the Fab after a Kleenfreaks snowfoam, a wash with their shampoo and all dried:

Then I used this Gyeon sealant I still have from Waxybox:

Also my first time using this from Autofinesse:

I then used a sample pot of Autofinesse Temptation on the bonnet and two front wings.

Then the last step was to go over the car with this:

And I remembered I hadn't actually posted many photos of the leather interior:

Also yesterday I added a new air freshener:

Looking great mate :)
