  • Gave the Fabia a quick clean today.     Doesn't scrub up too bad for a 10 year old car.

  • Thanks Charlie   So after going to Prept last night I knew I wanted to give the Fab a good proper clean today.    Bought the clay mitt and prep shampoo from Halfords this morning so I could get s

Do people recommend putting new dampers on when I put the springs on?

Cheers.

What springs are they? Also now many miles has the car done? If it's still the original suspension I would replace the dampers too, plus top mounts and bump stops

  • Author

They're Apex springs dude. It has just ticked over 103k miles and as far as I know it's on the original suspension.

Okay, you know the best place to get new dampers, top mounts and bump stops?

Cheers.

Nice Tom :) What bushes are you putting on fella?

  • Author

Cheers dude :) That's a Powerflex dogbone mount bush. I've already fitted cupra bushes :)

Ah cool, the one I've just been looking at on Awesome GTI :D Will keep posted for your updates :)

  • Author

That's where I got mine from mate, PM AwesomeAl for a decent price

The Fab is now running a Faboka remap!

Only on the low torque one at the moment as I need to grab VCDS off a mate to switch to the high torque map.

EGR deleted on both, with launch control and left foot braking enabled on both.

Need to do some logs on both maps and send them to John.

Can definitely feel a difference on the low torque map, pulls for longer. Just can't wait to switch to the high torque map.

Makes me wonder why I didn't get the remap done sooner!

Massive thanks to John for all his help.

Switched over to the high torque map tonight. So far feels good, will test it out a bit more tomorrow on my drive to uni.

Seriously want the Fab lowered now! :-/

This arrived off Sparkly today, can't wait for the weather to clear up so I can give the Fabia a good couple of coats!

Cheers Sparkly

Did I spy sunny tires!?

I had them when I first got my Fabia. I would seriously change them. They offer no grip at all!

  • Author

Haha yes you do.

I'm going to be putting Uniroyal Rainsport 3s on pretty soon so should be much better

Definitely will be much better. Without trying I would get wheel spin in 2nd in the dry with them tyres and the car was standard

  • Author

I know what you mean. I did wonder why it spins sometimes, especially in second and without even giving it anything. Just had a remap done too!

Had another go at snow foaming today. Used AutoBrite Magifoam combined with less water in my Autobrite lance and it was a lot better!

A lot thicker thus allowing it to cling to the car more.

Used my Carbon Collective wash mitt and some custom Car Chem shampoo to give the car a good clean :)

Then just had enough time to give the bonnet two coats of my new Poorboys Nattys Paste wax, very easy to apply and buff off. Waiting for the rain now.

Can't wait to order some coilovers and get my splitter fitted!
