  • Love a bit of beading. Photo taken today. 2 coats of Poorboys Nattys Paste wax on the bonnet.

  • Gave the Fabia a quick clean today.     Doesn't scrub up too bad for a 10 year old car.

  • Thanks Charlie   So after going to Prept last night I knew I wanted to give the Fab a good proper clean today.    Bought the clay mitt and prep shampoo from Halfords this morning so I could get s

What are you having done?

Exhaust, looking at that pic?

  • Author

Exhaust, dogbone mount and ABS sensor fixed.

Photos to follow :)

Awesome, did you go for the 0 silencer?

  • Author

Yeah went for the 0 silencer system. Loving the sound!

Will get a photo up tomorrow and I'm going to try and get a video at the weekend :)

Did you just get a catback, or turbo back..?

  • Author

Went for the catback 0 silencer system.

So the weather has ruined my plans to give the Fabia a detail today  :(

Oh well, means I can get on with some uni work I guess.

Please excuse how dirty the car is.

After driving a few miles with the Powerflex dogbone mount installed I have noticed that the keys now jingle on idle but that doesn't really bother me. The car does feel less reluctant to go now when you put your foot on the go pedal so overall I'm happy with it. For the cost it is definitely a worthwhile upgrade.

I'm loving the exhaust, the sound is addictive! I went for the Piper 0 silencer catback system, ordered from Rob at W8 Performance, very good service even though he was really ill when I phoned him.

Very happy with the recent mods I've done, it looks so much better than it did a number of weeks ago!

Will probably be it for a while now.

Thanks for looking

Can't be clean all the time. Cars are for driving after all :)

That's very true mate! Am loving the new sound it makes  :giggle:

Nice looking car looks similar to mine at the moment (winter mode)

I must ask as I have just fitted the dogbone bush too, are you really happy with it? because i'm not. I don't feel it offered anything apart from a reduction in the refinement of the car. Yes it feels sporty but sporty in the same way my dads 306 dturbo feels sporty.

Just having a moan as It is common that opinions on forums are sometimes to cover up an error in judgement. I'm not massively chuffed with my mount and I can admit it.

Fair play if that what you wanted though!

Great update Tom..../ and that's not dirty, you wanna see my silver Fab :giggle:

Thanks dude, yours is the silver vrs I see in the UKC car park isn't it?

I am happy with it for what it cost me, I do know what you mean though. It feels to me that the engine pulls quicker now, rather than feeling slightly reluctant when you put your foot down. As though it doesn't rock back a bit before the rest of the car moves now.

I know what you mean about opinions on forums, people don't want to admit they might have made a mistake and been wrong.

Have you thought about fitting a new OEM dogbone mount instead of the Powerflex one? Might solve the issue.

Cheers mate, haha it feels really dirty to me!

Have been reading your thread, good going on the latest mods!

I've got an EGR delete kit in the garage waiting to be fitted, not sure whether to tackle it myself. How was it in the end?

So I've just ordered 4 Uniroyal Rainsport 3s from Camskill, will hopefully be here next week at some point.

I badly need some grip back, currently spin in second in the dry.

  • Author

Just received an email from Camskill, all going well the tyres should be here on Tuesday and hopefully get them fitted Wednesday/Thursday :)

Ha yeah she's getting there. Was hoping to have been done by now, but work got in the way :(

Was a piece of pish once I was able to get this pesky Allen heads out! Really easy, give it a go yourself dude :)

Good going, its not too dirty i hadnt washed mine from when i bought it in december lol

  • Author

Can't always predict these things mate. Still good progress :)

Cool, they're the bit i'm worried about to be honest. Might give it a go myself when I know i've got all the tools and some semi decent weather.

I followed this to the T......

I removed the top boost pipes and cam cover to give me extra room.... on Dan's guide there's a picture with the 2 Allen heads circled and once removed all those bits above, I put the small key in and used a closed spanner to push against the key.... after a bloody good douse with penetrating spray :)

Honestly nothing to worry about..... I did and wasn't worth it

I'm up for that mate :) wasn't going to ask you at the moment due to your car situation mate.

I have had a quick look at that mate, if I do it I'll definitely follow it!

As I say the only bits I'm worried about are the 3 Allen key bits.

Will have to tackle this myself then I reckon :)

Just fitted a strip of LEDs in the boot.

Used scotch lock clips to tap into the existing boot light wires.

Just got to wait until tonight now to see how much better the boot is lit up.
