ELM327 and Skoda Octavia 1

Featured Replies

Hi,

I bought a Bluetooth ELM327 adaptor from Blocket. It is not working on Skoda octavia 1 2000. I am trying to use it with Car gauge. Can anyone help me about it. I want to read a fault code in my car.

What exactly are you trying to use it with? A phone? Which app?

that how i am doing it. It is available in Torque. but then torque stucks with "Torque configuring protocol with different protocols". I continue getting this message for a long time.

IIRC the torque website lists some elm327 adaptors that should work and says that your mileage will vary with others.

Is there any chance that Skoda Octavia Mk1 is not compatible to this device.

Funny never had that on mine ever

All I do is pair it, select it and go to the dashboard or fault code check.

Could be it not working due to yours being prefacelift, but I'm sure it should works fine on my vrs

Hi Raf

Thanks for your help. How can I check it?

1. Is the adaptor paired with phone/tablet properly?

2. Can torque find the adaptor?

3. Do you have another car you can try it on?

Elm327 adaptors are made by lots of people and like odbII cables vary massively in quality. My cheap eBay cable rarely worked on our Leon but when I got a proper VCDS cable I had no problems connecting at all.

It looks like its looking for the wrong protocol.

Check the setting and leave it on auto iirc

Is MK1 Octty 1.9TDI (2004) compatible with OBD - II particularly FIXD device?

Edited by Burhan

yes your car is obd2 compatible.

im not sure what fixd is?

if its a dongle like all the bluetooth ones out there, then check the spec on the device.

https://www.fixd.com

This is the link to the device and it says that it is compatible with all gasoline cars after 1996 and all cars after 2006. So couldn't figure out whether it is compatible with Skoda Octy 2004 Mk1 or not.

yeah its compatible, but over priced in my opinion, and tied to their app.

go on ebay and get an elm327 bt dongle for half the price and torque pro.
