Didn't Daewoo buy all the tooling / manufacturing eqpt off GM hence the cars being only slightly different.

And for the Mk2 Cavalier as well. The result of that was a pretty good disposable m/way barge.

I'd say that other than the fact that the bumper grille is one way up on the Octy and the other on the Sonata, they actually look VERY similar: both have rhomboid headlamps, slightly taller at the outside, with a point at the inside bottom edge; both have inverted trapezoid bonnet grilles; both have bonnet creases starting in line with the inside edge of the headlamps and leading back to the base of the A pillars... :ne_nau:

Strange how comparing the old Sonata with the XF got a few approving replies, but comparing a SKODA with the new Sonata earns me accusations of blindness!

The geometric figures are the same sure, but the proportions aren't.

In regards to the Hyundai and the facelifted octy, my friend had hire of a new octy the other week and thought it was a hyundai, it gave him a bad impression of the octy from the start.
