All My Power Is Back

Featured Replies

Jumped in the car this morning. Very tentatively, eased it onto a main road and pushed the accelerator a little bit....

It's all there again :D

That's the good news... the bad news is, what if it happens again just as I'm passing a 330Ci, I may end up with a Beemer owner thinking s/he can take me (not good).

So my question to all my esteemed Briskodians is...

What The F*ck?!?!?!?!?!!?

Good to hear you're back on full power :D

Lets hope it was just a temporary blip, combination of weather, change in fuel etc etc.

Or maybe its the car's way of telling you to give it a wash next time you go to a meet :P

Now just you hold on there!!!!

Some of us are brave and buy a car that shows the muck of the road, you know ;)

Seems fine and dandy now... very strange, but glad all the same :D

An honest suggestion:-

Try using Super Unleaded instead of Dodgimix, sorry Optimax, for the next month or so and see if the symptoms come back. If they do, you will know that you have a car problem, if they don't, you will know the solution.

You obviously have had problems in the past with Optimax - can you elaborate?

I've been running on this fuel for about a year without problems for two reasons...

1. It definitely gives a little bit more kick than unleaded.

2. It's cheaper than SUL and supposedly has a higher octane rating.

Ta for the honest suggestion though - I'll think about it :)

Try passing a driving test

Who was that aimed at? And what do you mean?

I didn't get that one either.

I'll PM you re my Dodgimix reasons

Cheers Fab

Why not make the Dodgimix thing public?

Could be helpful, donchafink? :)

Regards,

Mark

It could be, but I don't want to link particular cars / events to my name on here !

Happy to PM you if you want, but basically if you are convinced of the benefits of fuel which has a higher octane rating than normal unleaded, then I'd recommend Super Unleaded over Optimax. Personally I will not take the risk with Optimax again.

PANRIX, drives like a whooose

Is that "wussy" or a Scottish house?

Rob.

Na jist a Scots Whoose ne wus ne pussy

PM me please, I had probs last week. Not sure if it was down to optimax, but the dealer asked what I'd been using as the fuel was 'pink'??

Anyway, I had blocked fuel lines and was off the road for 2 days. Glad to have my lovely RS back :)

Gaz,

You're a cheeky bandit (oh no, that's another one)!!!!

Just remind me who it was that let you get off the roundabout and then thought you had hit reverse by mistake????? ;)

I enjoyed our little tete a tete, you can't beat a couple of vRS's "going for it" :D

Mark

Enjoyed every minute of it, the looks on the other drivers faces as we passed them doing "Mach II"

That doesn't sound like anything that my experience could help you with I'm afraid !

Sounds more like the garage put the wrong fuel in the storage tank that you filled up from. If the garage that drained your fuel lines hasl got a sample of the fuel that they took out you should claim against the filling station for the cost.
