Why do we fall in love with our skoda VRS ?

Recommended Posts

best car you can get for insurance group 19/50

Best car I could insure.

They're actually great though. First VAG ive owned and its the poor mans VAG really but its great. I bet audi's are lovely.

An Audi is the quickest way to find yourself stranded on the hard shoulder with VW's close behind!

Really?

Tbh I think ill be in a beamer next.

Anyone know if e46 came in techno violet?

Really - I travel around 400 miles a week on the M1 and I see at least 2 broken down Audi's every week! Passats and Golfs are fairly regular too. I'll try and find a post I made on Scoobynet on this very subject!

I bought mine back, so I'm the 2nd and 4th owner. (Needed diesel for 3 years)

I just love it all round. The noise it makes puts a smile on my face everyday.

I love the look of the mk1 VRS range.

Always interesting to see these break down lists.

The thing to take into account is the people that drive these cars. Typically business execs that have never opened the bonnet or know anything about maintenance

Exactly it, they are probably the less reliable 2.0 tdi engines with 300, 000 motorway miles on them, and have been very poorly maintained.

its got the sporty looks B) , economy and performance in one car   , cheap to maintain and service  , cheap on parts  and if you want to modify don't pay through the nose, i've had mine a year now and when i go to work i arrive with a cheeky grin on my face, :giggle:;) its saved me a fortune in fuel compared to my last cars and it pulls like a train, but i'm keeping her stock for the time being. and gives you 500+ miles per tank full.

I'm not a mod kind of guy although I do like "the who". i bought my fabia vrs coz its fast, looks better than any golf i've seen (poss except MK1) and is really fun to drive. Motorway wise it's just ridiculously fast. I think they are great value and I love overtaking audi TT's for fun in the fast lane and watching their faces. I am not a boy racer more a middle aged racer but I think they do surprise alot of people on the road which is cool and not everyone knows how good they are. You also don't see millions on the road like everything else. I like to be different and I think alot of people who buy them like it for that too. I remember the old Skodas and got they were awful, I mean just skips. Thank god they were bought over and hopefully they keep their new prices low. I don't like the new version. Sorry. I think the auto 1.4 petrol ruined it. If they just stuck the same engine and updated it people would have bought them in droves.

I agree, for me the selling point was that it was really the first of its kind. A "mainstream" "performance" hatch
