New logo and badge

Featured Replies

Came up behind a very smart 13plate car yesterday, in a lovely smokey grey colour, and found myself wondering what the tallish vehicle was.

It had me half convinced I was looking at the rear of an unfamiliar Vauxhall, until I almost perched on his bumper, when I could actually read the shiny letters - "Skoda Fabia"!

That new badge, which it had in all it's monochrome chrome-ness, had me completely fooled, and when I nipped past him, I saw that in the top line of the lovely deep black grille, it had the same new logo.

That Fabia looked very 'cool' indeed, though the badge (which has been discussed on here loads of times) threw me. I'd never before seen the resemblance to, say, a Corsa's! And I've not spotted it on any other new Skoda cars I've seen.

Yes, oddly Skoda are now fitting the new Skoda chrome and black badges to the Fabia and Roomster, but not the Yeti.

The Citigo has it, the New Rapid and Octavia have it... not sure about the Superb, but it seems that as we are six months from a facelift the Yeti is being left with the old badge that suffers from whiteworm despite it being one of the more expensive models in the range.

I don't get it really, they should have upgrade the badge on the Yeti too, particularly as the Fabia is due for replacement in 2014 and they have changed that.

Well mine has one too, easy to do just buy the Citigo badge and affix

I'm in two minds about this. I love the green in the old logo. But I do find the Roman Ceaser-esque wreaths around the edge a tad old fashioned and busy. This new Favorit badge is a bit better. But why I'm in two minds is because if you change the bonnet you are still left with a boot, four wheels, two key fobs and a steering wheel showing the old green badge. And then your car has an identity crisis. So I'm leaving well alone.

What did you fit on the rear?

I could only do it if they matched. :)

That's the problem!!! They don't make new one's in the size for the rear so to get one you have to ask Pastyboy to make you one.

Exactly. ;)

Which is why I haven't done it yet... although I must admit to having the new logos on my Matterhorn alloys...

I have the new one up front, the bigfoot one on the rear will do my Matterhorns next, keyfobs are in cases and the steering wheel and radio screen logos are there for old time's sake. All down to personal taste at the end of the day.

This superSkoda badge, bought for me my a relative, it's not my favourite, but it does draw comments. The 55mm Citigo wheel centres are also fitted and look good.

Have you a photo of the wheels with the new centres in?

I have them on my Annapurnas.

are the Annapurnas on the new L & K black inside?

Yes they are-the ones shown were as bought for my Elegance with Nokians for winter use and came with the new badges. The L&K came with the black inner paint but the old style badges.

Right - internet shopping again......

Hello from Sweden :-)

I have just bought myself a Yeti and found this tread about the new logo. Is there any badge that fits the rear yet?? The 90mm for the front doesn´t look like a problem but the 110mm rear?

My front badge has the whiteworm problem so i want the new model badges. Is it possible??

Front is no problem = Citigo, but there doesn't seem to be a suitable rear yet :(

Join the queue!

the "new" badge is actually the old badge that they fitted pre 1994/5. My 1993 Favorit had a near identical badge

Even if it´s the "old" badge that is the "new" it´s still looks better on a black car ;)

Or a white one :-)

I've just been advised by my Skoda dealer that all Yeti's built after week 35 (w/k 26/8/13) should be delivered with the 'new' logo badges and, if not they would swop them for me! Result! New Yeti being delivered week 37, yay!

Can you let us know if this is the case when yours arrives. Mine is due in November (some time) and is Candy White so I would be very happy with the look of the new badge.

So they will be manufacturing the large rear Yeti badges in the new style? A bit of a surprise - I assumed they would use the standard sized badge on the rear of the facelift models.

The FL Yeti has the exact same body panel where the badge goes.........  all they changed was to add the triangular bits to either side of the number plate.  Ergo they had to design a new badge for the FL hatch door that will also fit the pre-FL Yeti.

This is good news.

We'll soon be able to order the part that is the new rear badge and get rid of these (quite frankly) crap badges that must have cost all of 5p each to make that the silver coating falls off!

I certainly will. It will save a few pennies and time running around trying to swop the old badges myself.
