Fabia vRS Tyres.

Featured Replies

Sorry. I know this has been touched on before, but i've done a search around on here and have come up with a few answers.

What tyres do people use or recommend for the fronts on a Fabia vRS?

I did want to go for the Continental Sport Contact 2s again, but the cheapest i've been quoted so far is

depends everyone is different.

Currently I have Toyo T1-R's fitted at around

Pirelli P Zero Neros for me.

Fantastic grip but wear quickly.

At the end of the day it's compromise between grip and wear rate.

The Falken Azenis series are extremely grippy tires. I've got a set and I don't regret getting them, regardless they were a bit pricey.

What are they like in the wet?

I've just been recommended the Dunlop SP 2000s at

We hardly have rain so I can't say :(

Bridgestone potenza s02 pole position's. Can't comment on wear because I haven't worn them out yet, but I can only describe them as fantastic. Ability in the dry is tremendous, wet grip is even better. Recommended.

(funky tread pattern too if you like that sort of thing)

well i have Pilot EXALTO PE2's and they are very good $88 a tyre on my tyres

SP SPORT 2000

NAH....best tyre for me are the ContiSport 11's, worth paying more for.

Okay, phoned up Chemix to order the 2 Continentals, and they had to phone me back. Phoned back to say they'd been on to there suppliers who'd run out and wouldn't be getting any in until the end of July. Needed to change them before i go to Scotland for 2 weeks at the beginning of July.

I'm now left really with either going for Dunlop SP2000's or Goodyear F1 Eagles, or my other option is to order the Continentals from mytyres.co.uk in the hope they'll deliver before i go away and i can find someone to fit them quite cheaply.

Do garages normally charge large amounts for fitting tyres you've supplied, or is it dependant on the garage?

it depends on the garage usually no more than

Another vote for pirelli pzero nero. With 7J16 oz superleggera and 205/45/16 tire it's a fantastic combination for handling, even standard sport suspension reacts well with this wheel and the grip from the tires just wont let go until you're going insane speeds into corners.

Oh, and works great in the wet too, very progressive when you're nearing the limit so you can still work your way out.

Without doubt the F1 Eagles, suberb in the dry but Fan-fooking-tastic in the wet and wear pretty well too.

all those prices were mytyres.net

i managed to ware out a set of eagle f1 gsd3's in about 6k on my 172 that was no track days either

Try Walkers tyres - contisport 2s fitted at under

After mentioning the Conti's, Dunlop SP2000s and Goodyears, i'm now going for the Dunlop SP9000s. I've been told (after i'd ordered them) the Dunlops wear quite quickly, but i've also read that the Goodyear F1 Eagles are poor in wintery conditions, so damned no matter what i had if i went with either of those opinions.

Conti's would have been best but need to change them due to having a bulge in the passenger side front tyre and can't wait until the end of July for some more to come into stock.

Thanks everyone for all your suggestions.

After the American Grand Prix debacle just don't fit Michelin!

I had one of these put on my spare after a ridiculous low speed (3mph) puncture to a conti sportcontact 2. It has a nice tread pattern, got a good write up in german publications(see mytires?) and I had it fitted and wheel balanced for

Pirelli P Zero neros all round here..

Highly recommended.

Hae to say i've never had a problem (touch rubber!) with the Michelin Pilot's that came as standard, mind you, only had them for a couple of weeks from new......Am i the only one who thinks they're ok?!
