Fabia 2 vrs door handles not visible in dark

Featured Replies

Has anyone noticed that people can't see the interior door handles at night? Is there a fix for this? As far as I know the only other trim color available is ivory which is not suitable. Chrome would be nice.

Your S3 interior handles are shiny and visible,as were the ones on my Octy vRS,that's the valid point.

To answer the original question, see the Superskoda site, there are alternative ones on there, but I can't say how good they are.

Doesn't the interior light come on when the key is removed?

I've never been able to fathom how to set the interior light so that it comes on when the key is removed from the ignition - fortunately I've got very good vision so it's never been a problem.

Are they easy enough to fit? I certainly like the alloy look..

As soon as you remove the key from the ignition the interior light comes on automatically like all the other models do.

Not if you have the light switch in one of the 3 positions,

particularly the one that means the light does not come on when you remove the key from the ignition.

Note that those AluLook handles look ore plastic than anything else - I had them and hated them so I painted them gloss black.

Maybe a nice diy project if visibility of the handles is so important to you you could always install some ambient led lighting behind or above the handle.

Carry a torch in the glove box, when you need to open the door get the torch out, Oh hang on you'll never find the glove box so carry a torch in the door pocket to shine on the glove box to get the torch to shine on the door handles

I do not think i have ever looked for a door handle on any vehicle,

i put my hand towards the door and feel for the handle, usually there is one right where it should be..

I do miss the cable that there were on Minis for many years.

Playing devils advocate here..if you don't instinctively know where the door lever is, how do you know where the gearlever is? Or the handbrake? All part of learning your new car, surely? What about the light switch?

I suppose you learn, but I certainly fumbled to find the handle in the dark when I first got the car.

Lights coming on or not with ignition key removed does not help the front seat passenger who is still in the dark.

Regardless of visibility,I think chrome handles similar to the Octy would give the interior a massive lift.

Well I started this post I have a lot of passengers and no one can find it in the dark. Wish it was like the mini with a small light, you can even change the colour. Anyway I took another car I own to Amsterdam and I saw a fabia with the same handles as the guy linked in an earlier thread. You cannot order this colour handle for my chassis so I took a pic of the chasis num on the left hand drive car I saw in Europe and ordered and they arrived! They are definately more visible, one if them is on back order so I have 3 fitted at the moment no problems. You can also get the same finish for the air vents which you don't see much in the uk, if anyone wants the part number let me know. Also can someone help with the other thread I posted regarding knocking noise from rear thanks
