Spare Oil (with new Yeti)

Featured Replies

Prompted by this thread in the Citigo forum, are you meant to get some oil with a new Yeti ? (thought I'd read in some older topics that you do, but I didn't get any with mine last week :'( )

I got oil with my car.

Every VAG car has a litre of oil when new, usually in a leather look zip bag with a pair of gloves and a paper funnel. Depending on which engine you have chosen will determine if it stays in the boot or gets used up.

If you didn't get any call the dealer and ask why? My VW Passat had Oil, the Audi A4 had Oil, The Fabia had Oil and the Yeti had Oil, as do the cars my mates have bought.

I got a1 litre bottle. Not in a leather look bag though just a fabric one.

Yeti has a litre....the Tiguan didnt

Cheers Guys - looks like I missed out (unless it's hidden within some yet unseen area of the car).

I'll ask the dealer if he can send me what I should have received on collection (it's not worth the 800 mile round trip to go back and pick it up :giggle: ).

ernieb - as yours is also an L&K, can you confirm whether you got what 'James I' described ? (i.e. litre of oil + "leather look zip bag with a pair of gloves and a paper funnel")

Do you have a spare wheel and have you looked under the boot floor?

Castrol 1 ltr in a plastic zipped case.

Got it with my last few Skodas.

+1 here for a Velcro bag with 1 litre of castrol oil in 62 plate superb 1.6 tdi from Henrys Glasgow

Yes, have the spare wheel but had that out at the weekend (so that I could get the detachable towbar into it's proper storage slot ) and didn't see anything else under there, but I'll check again just in case.

Absolutely NOTHING. :wonder:

I got mine and the location (under the boot floor) was pointed out to me by the salesman during the handover.

My neighbour got oil in his Yeti in March.

I got lots of free oil with mine

WHAT no beer in the corner MARTIN :@

No free oil in mine when I picked it up (other than in the sump)....

A litre of Castrol with the Yeti and a litre of some Shell stuff in my recently-delivered Audi A1.

A few cars are coming through with no oil at the moment, ( in the pouch) I believe there is a supply issue at the factory......

Me too - but under the boot floor.

They just told me to come in if it ever needed oil and they'd top it up for free. For the whole 5yr warranty period. I doubt I'll take them up on it ... too out of the way. Plus it hasn't needed any extra in it's first 16,000km.

We got Castrol oil with ours - in a fabric bag. Still waiting for the level to drop so I can use it, then I have a free fabric bag!

No worries there - loads of beer in the corner :sun: Started Bobdog's nutcracker Headcracker yesterday after bottling the Nelson's Revenge.

There was a litre bottle of oil in my Yeti too. Not needed so far, and I'll have had the car for a year in a fortnight's time.

Mind you, if there was a technique for turning beer into oil (steady on Bobdog - this is hypothetical), I'd have nearly enough to run a Fabia II for a year :giggle:

The top up oil is added at the dealer, not in the factory.

Do you work at a Skoda dealership?
