Are these for use as dipped beam? I would think there's not even a grey area in their legality.

I am sick to death of changing my OSF dipped beam bulbs, so if these work and give good lighting they can stay in, if not it will be a HID kit

I seriously doubt these will give anywhere near the legal minimum light output, insurance and type approval issues aside. Have you tried long life headlight bulbs? I put them in the polo when we had it since it was such a pain to change the bulbs in it. They're a little bit dimmer, but quite a bit tougher. I never had to replace them.

I have tried nearly every make of bulb going from cheap to night breakers

If they keep blowing frequently then I would think there's some electrical fault in your lighting, or you're doing major miles on washboard roads.

The bulbs I used in the polo were Philips EcoVision. Night breakers have a reduced life, so not the best choice in your situation.

they will not work.

They wont be bright enough at all, might be ok for interior lights but those kinds of led's dont emit enough light to be used as headlights.

I've seen other people use them and the light being output is tiny!

If you say in the duplicate thread that you're blowing the same side every month there is definitely an electrical fault.

How much is a new central electronics module???? I wouldn't even think of installing these Graham. Stick to an HID kit, they give good light and do work.

Mike

Mike what hid kit have you in your new one, is it a quarter turn to remove the bulb or the old spring wire

Hello Graham

Thank you for your web message.

The retrofit LED bulbs do not give the correct beam pattern so they are not road legal. For this reason we do not make them and cannot recommend them.

We do however make a longlife H7 under our UltraLife brand and these are especially suited for high mileage drivers such as yourself. They can be purchased on line from Autobulbsdirect if you are interested.

Sent an email to Osram asking if they had any plans to produce them this was there reply, these come with a 3 year guarantee
