Mileage

Featured Replies

Mine's reached 53k now, after getting it early last year with 26k on the clock. Average about 22k per year normally, though my love for Scotland's wildlife is increasing that a bit.

I have a 45 mile daily commute to work and back, so half the miles come up from that. Mostly A roads and motorway for the commute. Can be anything from dirt tracks to motorways for my hobby of wildlife photography. It's about the perfect car for my hobby actually - roomy, big windows, off-road capabilities and decent on the juice too.

Reading Johan's comment in the thread "Ready to Order-Almost" he states "I do mainly short trips in London and then in summer lots of camping blasts... Mine has done 24,000 miles over nearly 3 years "

it would be interesting to see what mileage other members do on average per year and where they tend to use their Yeti's. ie: Pleasure, business, second car etc. If we could possibly pin this for everyone's comments it could build a picture of the cars reliability, usability etc. for potential new owners to base their decision on what engine, drive etc.

64k miles in just over 3 years.

Commute of just under 100 miles a day for 14 in every 28 days, on cross county Welsh A roads.

Nearly 2k miles towing a caravan to Brittany and around the UK.

Our only car.

Off road on many car rallies doing safety radio, plus with 4x4 Response Wales occasionally.

1 DRL bulb replaced under warranty.

Other than servicing nothing detrimental to report.

About 36,000 in 3.5 years. Mainly town, motorway and some rural use. Almost faultless. Averaging 44mpg.

10,000 miles in first 12 months.

Split about 7,500 local (mainly <5 miles) and 2,500 in 200 miles each way via M5 Motorway and A30 in Cornwall.

Maxidot shows 38.6 mpg overall. Motorway fuel consumption falls off over 60 and plummets over 65/70. Now I'm retired I don't need to explore the higher company car speed limits.

Tyres (Dunlop) down to 5 mm front and 6 mm rear.

Just serviced at cost of £140.51 which seemed OK (after Audi prices!) inc labour at £36.25

However, re-reading the paperwork I saw Z6Flush (oil system cleaner) and Z7flush (petrol system cleaner) which isn't explicitly required as far as I can see at £9.99 + Vat each. Probably a good idea (?) but any thoughts on whether I 'needed' an additional £24 on the bill?

My Yeti was one year old yesterday and has done 11,800 miles. That's lots of short three to 20 mile trips each week and longer (around 100 miles return) trips out once a month or so. Holidays are the only time it gets a long run.

My fuel signature link shows my mileage and the dates... I did about 4500 in the first 2 months! Cornwall for Christmas just after I got the car and then Edinburgh for Hogmanay just after. But living in London you have little use for a car to be honest. Public transport or my bicycle gets me to work. :giggle: My Yeti is a camping tool much like a tent!

This has been a niggle for me for years with many different cars. Garages load anything they can think of!

Screenwash fluid is another one, I always top up before service but they always add fluid in a service. When I last queried it they said " we had to check the washers so we topped it up afterwards. 500ml for a 30 second wash? :wall:
