Got it!

Think its a shame with the beige that the lower dash and door plastics arent black as well; I think a bit more colour contrast would really make it and I can see the lighter dash and door plastics picking up their share of obvious scuffs in time.

Then it wouldn't be a beige interior, it would be a black interior with beige seats!! I'm sure this of us that specced the beige interior are confident that we can look after it.

Once it gets "cleared by the port status", it will soon be on a ship!

One thing confusing me is, I can't get the Amundsen unit to play a random mix of songs from the albums on my sd card, the amunden plus unit in my 12 reg SE Plus had a "mix all" function that did this!!

Many thanks look forward to an update

Ordered new Dooka wash pad & wheel mit, not arrived yet, trying to wait until they arrive before giving it it's first wash,

wiped bird **** off, but car is covered in a thin film of dust, if it rains it will look terrible!!

Just been out in it, got back switched off engine, & fan was still going, seemed ages before it cut out!!

Only got 62 miles on the clock, 9 of those from the pdi, not even been on dual carriageway with it yet!!

Mine did the fan thing at about 60 miles, but that was on the day I picked it up! :giggle: Mines also got an annoying vibration coming from inside the steering column at about 1250 revs, which is 30 mph in 4th gear, think there's a warranty trip to dealer in the near future! :(

I had this same problem with my race blue mk 2 VRS! Attracted 10 times the amount bird lime than any other colour I've owned!

Vindis, had a look at it this afternoon, & it was as good as gold!!

Was advised to take it for a run, as I'd only done short journeys, I took it for a 20 mile blast down the A14 & A428, tried out the cruise control, & overtaking in normal & sports modes, (sports definatley better!)

Seems ok now!!

Gave it it's first wash this evening!!

Used brand new gear to wash motor, the other evening (first wash), used warm water with 2 caps of shampoo, cleaned buckets out & dried them before hand,

& used new Dooka woolie wash pad & wheel mit, & a waffle weave drying towl, did a great job, but not happy with the shiny black between the door windows,

next morning noticed tiny thin scratches in the black sections, anyone else had this? Looks ok again now, haven't done anything to them, but was thinking of a touch of polish.

I followed the same routine of buying new mitts and micro fibre cloths etc and found the same, as have other posters on here. I think it looks worse when still wet.

Phew! not just me then, I couldn't think what I had done wrong, I bought new gear for that very reason!!

Next wash due Friday, going to show it off to some friends in Peterborough!!

I polished my black door trims with polish then wax. No damage occurred and they look fine. I used 100% cotton towels from halfords to buff off. You can use micro fibre cloths as well, as I did for the final buff up.
