Want to buy Skoda Fabia Elegance 1.4 16V 100k mileage

Featured Replies

Hello

I am planing to buy Skoda Fabia Elegance 1.4 16V 2001 - 100k mileage. Price is £1100.

Please could you advise what problems I should look for.

I know from forum that there is a common problem with the engine light going on and nobody knows the real reason for that.

Apparently that car had a light removed. I guess somebody was upset about that light:))).

Is this light a real problem?

The other problem is that the last service was done in 2010. Cam belt was done at 70k.

Thanks for all your tips.

Regards

the freedom section has plenty of cars for sale on a daily basis, scan the Fabia 1 forums and you shall find what to look out for. It gets asked quite often so you shouldnt have a problem.

Another member on here just bought a similar Elegance for £350, I think that one is WAY over priced for a twelve year old car with average mileage.

They do give problems, the magmar EMS is very finicky indeed.

I agree about pricing, if it was a 1.9 TDI then it's probably be a fair asking price, but the petrol Elegance models do go for sub £1000 so keep your eye peeled on the for sale section of this forum!

4 Years ago, I considered buying a 2001 100BHP Petrol Elegance with 48K on the clock for around £1700...
