Why Buy Now?

Featured Replies

The flanks look different somehow-has anyone a similar angle shot of a current white one? I don't see any good reason for much change although this one looks crisper.

The only thing I can see is the headlight washers are missing :giggle: .

Looks like headlight washers are not provided everywhere. We in the Middle East do not get them as standard equipment.

My "do not buy until a car has bedded in" rule only applies to brand new designs - e.g. the new Octavia. A facelift is just that, cosmetic changes to the bumpers and lights with some trim changes inside. Really nothing that needs bedding in time at all - certainly not a year. So I'd have bought a new FL Yeti sight unseen if I was that desperate. I've had the current shape for nearly three years now and really don't want the exact same car again. Life's too short for that.

The other thing is that there are rumors of two distinct Yeti styles for the FL range. A non SUV type with full colour coded bumpers and 40 profile tyres (just kidding! They will be 50 as now I guess) and then a more rugged looking off-road version with less colour coding, silver skid plates front and back, maybe the fender flares as standard, etc. Which will look best? That is anyone's guess and I'd rather wait and see.

As to engines. Just like they are slowly discontinuing certain engine types over a few months now, the new engines will be launched in a staggered fashion for the FL with the bread and butter ones first (that most people buy) and the ones we really want (and fewer people buy) later. So the dream 180hp 1,8 petrol DSG (if ever sold in the UK  ) will be some time off (as stated above by someone else).

BUT nothing stops you from ordering an engine that is available as soon as the FL is launched and changing your order later... I did just that when the DSG was not available when I ordered but it was later on.
