I Finally Have My Octy!

Featured Replies

I actually got it on Monday but the weather hasn't been good enough to take some pics. Here's my Octy 1.6 Ambiente (Robmawer's clone:D ):

congrats!

Looks good, see what you mean about the weather though. Perhaps we can send some of ours over to you.

Same as mine too - no alloys, but I have got parking sensors and a centre armrest... :p Hope you enjoy it..:D

Looks good! Escpecially the 'octavia' plate on the front! :D You really drive around with that?

Thx everyone:D

Manny: Just 15 minutes after I took those shots it started raining:rolleyes: Although I wouldn't have a problem if some RS' started rolling in;)

Num: I'll be putting in the center armrest later when I have leatherette installed in the car (not bad for $380.00 american dollars for all the seats). I'll probably do it RS style with silver fabric inserts on the doors and seats.

Quinten: Yeah I tried taking it off but the dealer taped it on! I'll probably have it taken off tomorrow along with shaving the emblems.

You really want leatherette on the seats??? This is the plastic, imatation leather right, used widely in the 1950's / 60's?? Very sticky on ones rear-end I'd of thought... :D I'd get the parking sensors instead - very, very handy, as the rearward vision on the Octy is somewhat limited.

Anyway, with an RS on order as well as the 1.6, you can clearly afford it - so get both - and get real leather instead!!

 Num

Num: I was thinking leatherette in terms of what's offered on a BMW (don't know how it's called, alcantara?) not the plastic, ewey vinyl thingy:p But I was thinking of just using that material for the outer parts of the seats, while having the inner portions (where the buttocks go) in silver fabric (which I'll also use for the door inserts). I'm going to my dealer today let me see how much is the Parking Sensor.

nice looking car... with alloys too! dont tell Robmawer..

Me too...:(

You're such a bad liar... :p

I do really prefer steels as:

1. No one's going to nick them.

2. Relatively speaking, the tyres are narrower, so generate less road noise and are cheaper.

3. If you damage a steel wheel, it's a least a quarter of the price of an alloy to replace.

4. You haven't got to worry about having a steel spare instead of an alloy.

See 4 good reasons...I'm surprised everyone isn't upgrading to them! :)
