October Track day @ Oulton Park Tuesday 8th October

Featured Replies

I thought that was a lot of cars for one track.

Would think half the cars would want to be out on track at one time.

The long Oulton circuit is almost 3 miles long so should be plenty of room

Some interesting cars on the list

BAC Mono

Audi RS6

A couple of Atoms

Lotus Exige

Not everyone will be out at the same time, I usually wait for half an hour and let all the regulars get out and back in, then go out.

Just remember to move over as there are some really fast cars there so I am guessing a few of us, including me will be mobile chicanes  :giggle:

80 is enough - About the same usually goes to Cadwell, which is a bit shorter. and I've never had over crowding issues, or having to wait ages at the pits for someone to come off (as they usually have a max number on track at any one time)

People will be coming and going to give their cars a break, so it should be fine.

How will the instructor sessions be scheduled ? Hopefully we should manage two sessions each if all goes well.

No idea Mr Rooney, maybe if we all have 5-6 laps at first for hints and tips and then start again so he can go over improvements and so on?

I could bring numbered ping pong balls and we all pick but I guess we are all grown ups and can figure out an order of instruction.

If you have any ideas, shout up guys, it is your day as much as mine.

To be honest, I will want to go and do at least two taster sessions on my own / with a fellow Brisky passenger, to get a feel for it, before I get the instructor in to refine it.  Therefore I am happy to wait for a while.

yay! I'm now on the list :P thanks to Richard :)

With some instruction I'd forgotten I booked. ;)

What's the deal with spectating for this guys, or passenger-ing possibly?

As it's local, I might see if I can get the day off and pop down to see you all.

youd be welcome as a passenger in mine steve ;)

I thought I could count on that, cheers Dave :D

Will see if I can get Tues off.

Hope its good for spectators its 50/50 if I will have my car back from the garage. Already got a mate lined up with a Clio 182 if my cars not ready.

I am sure there is just an open gate policy on track days, passengers have to buy a wrist band for about  £10,

You are correct James -there is an open gate for track days

Well should be sorting my two front tyres today. Some old pirrelli that don't mind abuse :)

I know it's kind of been covered but the lack of paperpwork is concerning me

I'm sure when i did my previous day with Javelin i had forms email over to complete before the day and a list of things to bring (admittedly limited to driving licence, helmet, long sleeves) and all the general trackday gumpf.

Are we sure we're not going to get anything?

yeah ive got all that i just thought they'd send some of the paperwork out beforehand (indemnity paperwork, and waivers etc) to speed up the signing on process in the morning.

Ah well

I called them to check, they send nothing, you are checked against the computer info (I assume against your ID on your driving liscence) and fill out forms when you get there...

My last Cadwell day, they did email the disclaimer type forms in advance but maybe they feel its easier to keep it all done on the day instead.

I'm not worried about it.  Looking forward to it now!  1 week and I'll be blasting around the circuit!

oooooh I'm off on Tuesday and only live 15 miles from Oulton in nantwich so i think i'll pop down. Does anyone know if javlin do half days if they have any spaces left? i know it says full but sometimes people dont turn up
