Timed performance figures

Featured Replies

just browsing around the net looking at other cars performance figures, and Im wondering, what figures have any of you guys managed in your cars, not made up figures now, but any of you who have actually been so Santa pod or the likes and have properly timed figures, just curious what 0-100 times a VRS can pull off....

0-100km/h in 8.0 sec in my TDI... The brochure says 8.5!

The brochure also says 125kW/350Nm but a dyno shows 136kW/361Nm so I'm pretty pleased with that. :)

Verified by doing it both ways on a flat stretch of road - could repeat if asked. :) ... if the tyres hold! :p

Did drag race a DSG TSI, and held level until 140km/h, as well! :giggle:

Not official timings but my stopwatch timed my vRS DSG CR and it did 6.7 seconds to 60mph using LC (got exactly the same twice) but that's with the tuning box from DTUK on and towards the max settings.

Not properly timed so I know it doesn't really count, but it was repeated a few times and gave similar times on each occasion.

My stage 2 tsi will do 0-100 in under 13 seconds quite easily. Massive improvement over stock which I think is around 18?

That's quicker than an S3. Cayman 2.7 is 15 seconds so you're considerably quicker than that too.

really want to try mine, but the track I used to go to nearby is no longer open except for drifting and banger racing :-(

dont think my stock clutch would stand up to it though!

where you pulling your figures from Rob? can never seem to find a good resource

To be fair, I was very surprised too, other than off the line, it's very similar to my Sti with 335bhp.

interesting, cheers Rob, Focus RS doing it in 13 secs as well apparently.

I did a totally unscientific timing on my bogo standard Octavia vRS DSG using launch control and got around 7.6 seconds, even accounting for balls ups on my part it was certainly less than 8 seconds.

I used launch control on my DSG CR and also clocked 7.5 secs.

Where either of the two tdi's above remapped though?

Putting your balls up in 0.4 seconds is quite impressive . . . :-)

According to one of those mobile phone performance measuring apps my standard vRS DSG did 0-100kph in 6.04 seconds.

Conclusive proof that, the app doesn't work.

Ive done RWYB at santa pod several times but not in the Skodas and i would be surprised if any stage remap would get below 13s 1/4 mile without having additional work bigger turbo nitrous etc.

As a comparison my mates Calibra 4x4 turbo does mid 12's and its had about 20k spent on it Big intercooler, big turbo remap and nitrous gives about 400bhp even with custom clutch and 4 wheel drive its not easy getting under 12s. The calibra is about as low drag coefficient as you can get so its very aerodynamic compared to the Skoda. I have done runs mainly in cliosports which had more bhp per tonne ratio than the VRS standard and i was getting 15s.

Mine is standard.

Its pretty well known that a 170 CR can easily break 8 secs 0-60, DSG particularly. The official figures are pretty conservative. A TSI would break 7 secs pretty easily; A Fabia vRS TSi can do 60 in 6.5 secs standard and the Octavia is very similar given the similar power to weight ratio.
