  • A wee mock-up for you Jonceebee of how it might look (have I missed out any bling?)

  • I could tell you but then I'd have to kill you

  • IMHO it spoils the individual look of the yeti. The curved bottom (Bob...NO) and angle of the B pillar are the defining feature of the side view.

One word.

Niceeeeeee

What do people reckon to those black panels you can get to go on the B-pillar / door frames? That make it continuous black from A-pillar to rear. Are they OK in the flesh (not seen one "live")? Or do they spoil the "Yetiness"?

Yep - White Yeti does look good. There's one lives quite near me in Harrogate (nearly said exactly where!). But white, or black, sounds like too much cleaning required for me?

Andrew, that looks very nice. Optical illusion but it appears to reduce the height of the Yeti?

I'm a big fan of the black roof, seriously considering it on my Yeti, along with the black wingmirrors.

Not a fan of the B-Pillar covers though, as you mention it dilutes the "Yetiness"!!!

What colour is your Yeti by the way, so I know to look out for it in Harrogate

Really nice, well done. Where did you get the roof film done?

DAB Columbus, very jealous.

Double post

DAB Columbus, very jealous.

It does work very well and if there is no DAB it switches into FM mode.

The V5 and the dealer who sold it to me (Brookroyd in Killinghall - excellent btw!), call it "Beige". But I always thought that was the colour of the shoes my 86-year old nan used to wear (Bless her).

To me, it looks closer to what the brochure I picked up from Simpsons in Colne calls "Steel Grey Metallic"? Or could it be "Brilliant Silver"? Is "Cappucino" actually Beige? (That would figure!). What does that actually look like in reality? Both Our Lass and myself quite like it, whatever colour its called.

Is there a VIN code crib/decoder that could put me out of my colour name misery?

Either way - to be seen regularly up and down the A61 between Ripon and Harrogate or parked in Burton Leonard. It lives in Ripon. As mentioned in another thread - usually driven by SWMBO! She likes it so much I can't get the keys off her without a fight  !

Yes, I agree. Overall, I think this Yeti looks much smaller than my previous Muscavado model.

Done by the Totally Dynamic franchise in Leeds. Pleased with price and quality - they broke the offside rear black trim panel and made no fuss at all about ordering and replacing it and coming to my home to fit it at no cost to save me another 100 mile round journey.

Yes, I've been amazed at how much DAB coverage there is around here and at the sleekness of the switch back to FM when necessary.

Thanks for the info. Andrew will have to look in at Totally Dynamics, as I think the black roof goes well with the sunroof

LOVE the badge on the boot, where did you get it from, and how much was it??

:)

+1

So think some of those seen a concept Land Rover Defender too when they said it reminded them of a ,,, Yeti !!! :)

Here is a link to a photo of it just for reference:

How can Beige be mistaken for Steel grey or Brilliant silver?

There are a few different ones on superskoda.com

Thanks BossFox, I'll check them out. :)

I wondered that too when I went the black and white route with my Yeti .... but actually it does blend. Thinking of silver with black points for my next Yeti ... daresay the silver 'bits' would blend beautifully.

As to the OP ... looks great! But I am a fan of the black and white look!

Andrew, I'm trying to imagine what yours might look like if the roof rails were black too? Or would that be a step too far?

Crackin Yeti, just the emblem in the drivers side rear window lets it down!!!! Very discreat though.

To my eyes it's not at all "Beige". That's just what the V5 says. I think the V5 may be wrong? Or at best not quite right?

The car looks more of a silver to me. Definitely NOT "very pale brown" that Wikipedia defines "beige" as. I'm quoting the nearest colour in the brochure to what the car actually looks like to me - Steel grey. But brochure colour reproduction is often notoriously unlike reality, due to paper printing vs real 3D colour on a vehicle, particularly for metallics. There's no "Beige" in the Yeti brochure I have. "Cappucino" in there looks beige to me. But that's a 2012 brochure and my car is a 2010 build. So colour names could have changed?

I've checked a couple VIN decoder sites now. Seems VAG VINs don't include a body colour code. (Do any now?). By contrast (pun!) BMWs are so simple! Body colour is stamped on the strut tower. OK its in Deutsch, but at least its in words. E.G. " Avus Blau", "Topaz Blau", etc. Do Yetis have something similar somewhere, I could check? Car is "out" with SWMBO at the moment so I can't go look for myself.
