New engine/gearbox combination coming

Featured Replies

Well, not everyone can have pure liquid awesome pumping through their veins I suppose. ;)

Another benefit of the CR170 DSG over the CR140 DSG. The CO2 is less (by 5g/km)

It will also be far better on fuel consumption than mine (I hope).

Alas officially not much difference:

170 DSG

Urban: 36.7 mpg

Combined:  44.8 mpg

Extra Urban: 52.3 mpg

140 DSG:

Urban 37,2 mpg

Combined:  43.5 mpg

Extra Urban: 48.7 mpg

Motorways it is a fair bit better but in town it is worse and combined it is much the same.

In terms of new sales, I think we are in the minority. :D

But perhaps there could be a BriSkoda Special Edition? I might be interested (if the price weren't totally astronomical).

Fantasyland I know.

You'd have thought there'd be a small but worthwhile market - otherwise why would BMW have the X1 135, Audi the Q3RS and SQ5, Porsche the Macan and Merc the GLA45 on the way?

I know these aren't all Yeti sized but they're all broadly similar - not huge and daft-quick.

But they are halo products to big up the pretty naff normal "premium" badged cars that cost more than a regular car but give no real benefit other than a fancy badge..

Skoda doesn't need a halo car like that as the brand is based on value, plus I doubt Audi would want a Skoda Yeti on sale that would beat cars they sell costing over £10k more.

But the Superb 3.6 was allowed... albeit a bit detuned compared to the Passat R36. And wasn't the original Octy VRS in a higher state of tune compared to the S3 and GTI?
