The 'Shark Blue Metallic Yeti' thread...

Featured Replies

For some strange reason, I seem to have become super-attuned to spotting Yetis while on the road recently. Haven't seen a light blue example of any kind – mainly steel grey, muscovado, silver, white and a couple of petrol blues.

We ordered a steel grey monster (we hadn't seen anything in Shark Blue), but unbeknown to us, this colour had been stopped the day before we ordered (although the dealers had known for two weeks...). This only came to light when the dealership tried to put the order through on the Tuesday after a bank holiday weekend.

We hadn't liked anything else. So, there followed a mad dash around the country to find a Shark Blue to look at...while dealer waited and got anxious because end of month was approaching...

Long story cut short, we found a SBM Yeti, liked it and confirmed order.

But why are there so few on the roads? Is it all down to the unavailability last year or is it just that people don't love pale blue metallics? We do and now realise that circumstances worked to our advantage...

What do you think of Shark Blue metallic on a Yeti. Be honest, we won't be offended. Just really curious...

Is it the same sort of blue as race blue?

A pic of yours might be useful.

Its not my cup of tea, I dont do wishy washy colours, particularly on a bold design like the Yeti - I just dont think it suits it tbh but many on here will disagree. :)

Way lighter than Race Blue...

Should look something like this although it probably changes tone in different lighting conditions

^^^^ 11 plate Lee, that'll be Aqua blue. The Shark blue is a tad darker.

Will try and post a pic of our demo up.

Ooooer, if you could, im sure the dealer told me it was Shark Blue but that was on a new one so thinking about it, they must have been wrong! I ended up really liking the Petrol Blue one they had in the end! :)

I'm going through a stage at the moment of ordering Petrol blue this and Petrol blue that, don't think the boss will be too happy when the showroom is filled with the whole range in the same colour though   looks nice though

If I've got an Aqua blue of something here I'll try and get a side by side shot as well........

....... right after I clear this mountain of paperwork  :wall:

Paperwork means sales, right? So stop moaning!   Oh and saw Petrol Blue on a Superb estate in the same showroom on the same day so I think you pinched that idea from them! ;)

Sorry. :giggle:

After having the week off, and Richard will confirm, order forms and Neil don't go hand in hand

And yes Richard, you will take some responsibility  ;)

Richard - I don't know why you don't ask Neil for a Saturday job -think of all the shiny new cars to play with and not to mention the staff discount. I'm sure you've sold enough Skodas to be on a commission.  :giggle:

Two months and we'll be swapping an Aqua Blue Yeti for a Shark Blue one for Mum.

It'll be interesting to see them side by side.

I was concerned when she decided on the Aqua Blue, but then I do have a thing for stronger colours.

Have to say, I now think it's a very nice colour.

The Shark Blue is more blue, less silver, which will be nice as there are a lot of silver type shades out there on the roads.

I think it'll look cracking with a set of Annapurnas on it and a nice bright set of wheels should add to the look.

Lee, that Yeti you were going to take a picture of in Shark Blue doesn't have Moon alloys on it by any chance? :bandit:

That wasn't the one I was thinking of but as you mention it, there is a blue one with Moons on, just don't know how long they will stay on the car for  ;)
