Bye Bye vRS

Featured Replies

Well,,

Around 3.15 last Friday I parked my car to collect my wife from  the hairdressers, I was debating should I sit in the car with the climate control on or not,  after a few minutes I decided to sit in the salon as she could be a while yet. I walked approxe 30 steps and went in, sat down to be asked if I wanted a coffee by the owner when there was a mightly Crash outside. One of the girls looked out and said I better come out,

This is what met me :o

Anyhow to cut a long story short,

He was insured,

There was €8386 repair bill for it.

I rejected a repair and settled for a pre accident value settlement.

Must wait for check now etc. and settle a few things.

Then go order a replacement car which unfortunately wont be another vRS as it will be January at least before available.

Off his head on drugs :(

Oh, wow, please don't tell me that is a child seat that the doofus is trying to lever out of the back seat.

Thank goodness he was insured.

I feel sorry for you, especially as you can not just get an instant replacement.

On the plus side, at least you weren't sat in the car.

LOL

Didn't think of that

Some people shouldn't be allowed to breed.

Where did the wheel leant against the kerb come from? There appears to be one still attached to the other car.

Did he miss the car behind yours or did that turn up after the incident?

Luckily they come in red too :giggle:

@ Silver 1011

I would say white 3 door.

Red seems to be unlucky for me.

My last red car was back in 1991

That got wrote off too.

Ironically less than 2km's from where this happened now that you remind me :o

Sorry to hear about this but glad you are ok , never heard of a pre - accident settlement before, but I would not want a curved car straightening either

Yes, I got a pre-accident value on my car but on saying that I did not get any true value for the extras I had fitted when I ordered it. They based it on a standard vRS But I insisted on 1k extra or it was going to court which would then include Solicitor costs, Barrister costs,, I would also sue for stress and whatever else I could. I reminded then that i was prepared to let them off very lightly in what I was requesting compared to what it would end costing and that I would then be prepared to put the whole story on a national newspaper to demonstrate to the public exactly why their insurance costs are so high through Ins. companies wasting their money.

You would sue for stress??

What exactly does that mean?

The fact that people are not happy with their insurance simply putting things right and try to claim for such stupid things is an indicator of how screwed the world is and the reason why car insurance is more expensive for all than it should be.

You mean it shows how much disrespect insurance companies show towards 3rd parties. They think they can throw any sort of abuse towards them.

I agree Ken, why should a totally innocent party lose out, simply because the insurance company want to pay out as little as possible. When you are in an accident which involves a total w/o, the following weeks can be very stressful - hire/courtesy car, trying to find a replacement which is every bit as good as your own.Too many insurance companies seem to have an attitude that you should be grateful for anything they suggest.

Alls well that ends well.

Should be smiling again in under 2 weeks..

*Not giving any hints* :D
