4x4 or wait for Scout? (plus a 0% finance question)

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Saw that Skoda have added the standard 4x4 to the configurator now - does anyone think this is worth looking at or should I wait for the Scout?  What fundamental differences are there between the two??

Also, does anyone know if there is a maximum amount of deposit to qualify for the 0% interest deal?  The Skoda website seems to limit the amount of deposit, but this seems to vary each time I try to use it....

Thanks.

Steve.

Maximum 30% deposit on pcp

Where is 1.8TSI 4x4 though?

Based on Mk II, Scout has slightly more ground clearance and comes with beefed up bumpers and wheel arch and sill mouldings. Running gear is same, I think. Scout also had it's own upholstery. Am keen to see new Scout myself as may go 4 x 4 route when I change the vRS.

Sarge.

Disappointing it's only available as a 1.6 and 2.0 diesel and only on SE trim.

It limits the extras, would be nice to see a 4x4 version Elegance too.

How much more is the 4x4

It is annoying there is no elegance version

It's about £1,400-£1,500 more expensive.

I've been looking at an A4 Allroad, but a good spec 4x4 Elegance would be preferable.

Any news on when the Scout will be available and an idea of spec yet?

You have to move to a winter country..  :p

In Norway we get 4x4 in:

Ambition: (SE?) 1.6 TDI

Elegance: 1,8 TSI DSG,  1,6 TDI and 2,0 TDI

I was a little shocked to see the elegance trim to have solid solid door plastic panels .. yuck.

1.8TSI with 6 speed DSG & 4x4 are available in other RHD countries, heck O3 with 1.8TSI DSG is available from day one in Ireland, so it's not some sort of LHD->RHD conversion issue. Similar to the Scout in FL range (which, someone correct me if I'm wrong could be had til the end in Australia), we don't have it because effing Skoda UK does not want us to have it. They don't make it in UK, they don't assemble them in UK, it makes no freaking difference to their daily jobs, they just think they know better and don't deem it necessary to give us a choice.

Sounds like SUK are making stupid decisions again and not giving the customer the spec they really want!
