Decisions, decisions - race blue or candy white vrs estate?

Featured Replies

Ok, so despite my earlier reservations, I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy a vrs estate diesel manual. After lots of thinking, research and talking to my wife I've made this decision. Pretty much decided which options I'm going to have but the biggest decision now is which colour to go for. I used to own a race blue octy vrs hatch and liked the colour but I've never had a white car. I currently have a pearlescent black octy vrs fl hatch but having seen an octy 3 vrs estate in black in the flesh I wasn't too impressed. So, do I go for a colour I know and like or do I go for a colour that I like, have never had but think suits the octy vrs estate? Also, I simply can't find a picture anywhere of an octy vrs estate in the race blue.

1) Does anyone know where a real (not skoda configuration) photo exists for a race blue estate for me to quickly see. (Yes I know I need to go and see one, which I will do very soon).

2) What are people's opinions on the white and race blue for the vrs estate?

Your opinions are much appreciated.

Cheers

White FTW :)

Tough call.

Both will look good, but are colours that will be quite common.

Yellow

The End

White - I would say that though having that colour myself (not VRs though).

Saves you the £500 for metallic paint or you could put it towards another few options.

White. Me biased?

Yellow

Would you have another Yellow one?! :)

I've seen a race blue mk3 estate vrs with the pictoris wheels at my dealers and it's very subtle. Classy not sporty. My humble opinion? White with the dark Gemini wheels or even the 19's if you could stretch to them

I've had race blue and loved it. I've got white now and love that but I couldn't swap to the same colour car so have gone back to race blue.

white is what id choose if I hadn't had white now. Make sure its got black pack tho !

I've got a pic of a race blue on the phone but tapatalk won't upload it :(

Every day of the Week

Not 100% sure the estate can pull off Yellow, I'd need to see it.

Would certainly need some dark parts to offset it a bit.

Or not :(

Race blue. White is a sooooo last year and white with black alloys is just a cliche. Few cars can really do white well, Mazda 6 (last Gen) is one of the few

Cheers for the opinions guys, bit of thinking to do, but much appreciated. If possible race blue photos would be awesome please!

P.s. Sworall, checked out your Flickr photos-brilliant!

Theres a reason why Skoda are using white on the estates in the promotional material......

I have a white hatch, and just love it, for me the race blue is just the 'vRS colour' so there are loads of them about, and yes the white has become popular at the moment but it just looks so good, also its a no cost option, so what yu save you can buy some extra toys for the inside of the car!  Colour maxi-dot, sunset glass, standard cruise etc would all come in under £500!!!!

Many thanks, I'll go and have a look.

If you like cleaning it (alot) then go for white

blue hides the dirt so much better.

had to clean my 4 day old Octy because it went from white to yellow overnight when the first rain in 3 weeks washed all the pollen out the trees and onto my parked car!

i think the white looks amazing but i also think the fact that its not extra and that it looks good will mean there will be many many bought that colour. the blue is also nice and will likely be the second most common colour.

Colour is a very subjective thing.

To me Race Blue shrieks council estate/Subaru and looks horribly chavvy.

White = Essex.

I'd go for something a bit more subtle.

But as I say it's all highly subjective and colours mean completely different things to different people.

thats interesting as I found the complete opposite! One rain storm would leave the back of the blue vrs covered in grey but the white seems to hide it better.

meteor grey? Might have gone with that if I'd have seen one in the flesh

As Auric said, problem solved here if you chose the best colour :P

Clearly if you want to be different you need green.

Nobody has championed that yet! :D
