Upgrades

Featured Replies

It's my birthday next week and I'm gonna have £200-£300 to spend and was thinking of getting a few bits and bobs for the FabRed VRS. Haven't had the car long so can anyone recommend the best upgrades to go for with this kind of money???

It can be mechanical or cosmetic, I just want some ideas.  :)

Oh and I meant to say, it can be exterior or Interior as well  :)

Decent remap. Transforms the performance totally

Where about are you and il recomend a good tuners nearby?

I'd say remap as well. Without doubt others will say brakes before more power....

Also depending on your preference possibly a set of coilovers or a rear anti roll bar?

Near Bristol bud

Rear anti roll bar and 312's maybe.

Completely forgot to mention that I've got a cruise control stalk with all the wiring given to me which my dad gave to me that I haven't had fitted yet.

The standard brakes are more than sufficient for a remapped fabia, 2 track days in 25+ degrees with no brake fade what so ever so I can't see there being any problem on normal roads. Would definitely go remap or Coilovers if it was me, ( the first things I done ha )

Where's the best place to go for a remap near  Middlesbrough ?

I got mine done at big fish tuning in stokesly mate, John is a top guy and really knows what he is doing.

Rear anti-roll bar will very much improve road holding for around £150 ish.

think it's £200 mate, then another £50 if you want a before and after rolling road to see what power it's making, and if you want launch control it's £25 extra, I got it all done :)

Not Bad.Excuse my ignorance but what is launch control ?

say you wanted to do a standing start from a set of lights or down the drag strip, you put it in gear and hold the clutch down and put your foot to the floor with the accelerator and lunacy control won't let it rev over a certain RPM e.g on mine it won't let me rev past 2.5k and just bounces when I reach that. To stop you spinning as much off the line I think search it in YouTube, pretty awesome on fast cars :)

Also quirk way to kill your clutch and have potential issues come mot time when they can't get a proper smoke test ect due to your car not revving all the way

I'd say coilovers will totally transform how the car looks and obviously improve the handling. Probably one of the biggest exterior changes you can do for little money imo. I've done quite abit to mine just need to decat it then the remap is the last thing for me to do so if it was me I'd do the other stuff and leave the remap until last to save keep altering it if you decide to go for a decat later etc

it only kills the clutch if you do it every time you set off, obviously an upgrades clutch will be better for it but you just don't use it excessively, as for the mot, sure they will find a way.

If the smoke meter won't take a reading its put down as a advisory, asked on my refresher course a few years back

Mine passed without advisory ;)

launce would only work with the clutch down so as long as it is in neutral with the clutch up it will rev as normal lol.
