Stretched Tyres

Featured Replies

Hi people,

Ive got the usual Spyders on my Furby with stretched tyres on the front (the size escapes me, ill check tommorow) and 205/40/17's on the rear.

Is it ok to stretch the rears aswell?  I basically wanted to swap the wheels round, and put the 2 new ones on the front and vice versa.

But obviously if i do, stretched will be on the rear and normal on the front.

So, if it is ok ill order a pair to match the stretched!

People tend to stretch the rears more than the fronts and more for fitment issues. Personally i wouldnt say you will have "stretched" tyres in the scene sense on your spiders. I guess you will have 195/40s on them?

205's aint stretched on spider 7J's as the octy runs 205/50/17 standard

Wouldn't say there is any point in stretching Octy spyders, but as the post above says it's normally done to the rear of the car anyway, generally with a staggered fitment.

Also it's more recommended that the newer tyres go on the rear axel regardless of the car being a FWD, just a safety tip there
