Thinking of ordering

Featured Replies

Evening all,

Thinking of ordering a Citigo elegance tomorrow....popped into a dealer today to talk about figures but haven't test driven one yet...but should be tomorrow morning.

Maybe an odd place to ask as obviously you all love them but what are they like to own? Fun? Reliable? Ok at motorway speeds?

I will be hoping to take advantage of the 0% pcp with my current run around as px/deposit (C2 vts) - is this generally regarded as a good deal?

Also I was told not to worry about excess mileage as if you keep it for longer than half the finance period you don't have to pay for it? Sounded a bit odd?!

Any other advice welcomed :-)

(Other car currently a Octavia 1.4tsi which I love, but the wife has it....)

Cheers Dave

Take the test drive and you will answer most of your questions. Fun and more fun. A little too early to say about reliability but not many real problems popping up here?

I ordered a Citigo Elegance 75 Greentech last Monday. I was told that it was better not to trade in, and so am selling my Getz privately. I was also told not to worry too much about excess mileage. I drove the 60hp version on a long test drive including the M way. It is no rocket but it is fine. The 75 has similar performance to my 1.4 Getz and it is ok.

Love driving my 75 Elegance, which has been as expected, reliable. Keeps up with motorway traffic easily at the national speed limit and seems eager to want to do more :giggle: , but watch out your MPG suffer. My advice, get the 75 Elegance and as many goodies on it as options as your budget will allow. A must for me were, entertainment pack, sunset glass and spare wheel (ordered after you get the car and the wheel will cost you a good deal more) Paint choice is extra depending on whether you want something other than the base colours, and 5 doors are more practicable, well it is for us.

I never trade in now, always sell privately any car I want to shift. As for the PCP thing, no idea but there are ways of doing it that will be a benefit with servicing plans etc, a subject if you read other posts others can explain better.

Go for it, you won't be disappointed.

We have a 60PS Elegance, unless you are going to rev it hard then the power output between the 60 and 75 is almost identical.

When we bought ours to join our Yeti, the idea was that the citigo, was to be for short journeys. In fact we use the citigo for most journeys unless they are weekends away or touring holidays.

SWMBO, who was always a died in the wool BMW 3series driver, now loves the Citigo so much I have a job getting a go in it.

It's quick, it's surprisingly roomy, it's comfortable, it's economical and the boot is much bigger than you would imagine. We get the weekly shop in with no problem.

My view is go for the 60 greentech, most people who have driven both find it hard to tell the difference. With the money saved add the extended warranty, a spare wheel and the entertainment pack.

Enjoy your test drive

My dad likes it. Now for most that will mean nout, but my dad is very hard to please when it comes to cars. He's never sat in such a small car and been able to stretch his legs out (6'4").

As for me, in my honest opinion I think its the best small car on the market that ticks so many boxes.

Reliability too early to tell, so far miles better than the 500 it replaced. Gear knob has broken (came loose) and 1 recall as per campaign.

Fuel as per sig, that's 90% around town in stop start traffic.

We have just ordered an Elegance 75 Manual in Yellow, sunroof, tints and a spare wheel

It's replacing a MkII Fabia Vrs

Ive just ordered a Sport as Lookers are doing them for £119 on the same PCP deal as all other dealers!

The amount of people who just taken delivery of a Sport or who have just placed an order for one (like me) seems to be growing by the day.More the merrier.

Hi all,

Thanks for all the reply's :-D well just got back from the dealers.....

Loved the test drive, very impressed so much so I have just ordered a Citogo Sport in white :-D I wanted an elegance but they couldn't find any 60hp ones in the network and didn't want to order from factory! Plus I wanted to keep the payments under £100pm (£91pm lol)

Should be ready in 2 weeks, just need to decided if I want a 13-plate or 63-plate! As we only have one car now till this arrives which may cause problems as I commute :-/....

Still very happy chap :-D only down side is the wife wants the centre stripe removed....one for me to work on haha

Thanks for all the advice :-D

Nice one

They do look great in White

Tell your missus they cant safely remove the decals...Maybe the stripes will grow on her ;)

Cheers

Damo

My Mrs isn't keen on the middle stripe but its going nowhere! Lol

If its not ready for two weeks I really would try and stretch another two for a 63 plate!

Well, I kind of said ok to removing it for her to agree to letting me buy it haha (not under the thumb or anything) lol but she has agreed to see it in person before definitely taking it off!

Other topic, gap insurance...not taking it out with Skoda but I do want it! Any recommendations?

Cheers - Dave

I took it out with them mate, but you might get it cheaper elsewhere

Im just lazy ha

Worth doing it though, you never know

Cheers

Damo

I took it out too, their total loss insurance at £9.5 pm. With the monthly payments being so low GAP is a must for me as you'll never get anywhere near the market value lol

We humans are an odd bunch aren't we. I wouldn't have bought my Citigo if it didn't have the stripes.

  • 2 weeks later...

This might be easier.. .

Mmmmm I just don't know what to do....well it should be at the dealers at some point next week so we will see....the wife is still dead against the stripe lol

Personally I love the stripe :-) Didn't get the sport but only because I wanted to spend more money on tech and less on paint ;-)
