Four 6 x6 fence panels in the rear of my 2012 vrs hatch

May need some fettlingpost-95705-13758764609548_thumb.jpg

????????????

I had a 50 inch Plasma upright (as it should be transported) in it's box in the back of the car, had to take the rear seat swabs out and tilt the passenger seat forward, but it went in fine and I still had an empty boot.

Kicking myself for not taking a picture - was too keen to get the telly installed on my wall.

Enough insulation

I'll bet that was a quiet drive home. Even two bales took all the noise from my work car.

I had a flat packed double bed and a double mattress from ikea in the back of my vrs hatch. I thought the rear window was gonna pop out on the m4 haha

1 Double Wardrobe from Ikea

1 Day bed from Ikea (the big white one with 3 under draws that turns into a double bed)

2 Single Matresses from Ikea

1 Bed side Cabinet (2 drawer Malm -Ikea)

1 Large 4 drawer Cabinet for Bedroom (Malm -Ikea)

TV Cabinet (Corner one from Ikea)

1 Shelf (floating type)

And a few various bits like bedding, pillows etc.

All for the daughters bedroom, to say the rear was low is an understatement! - I hit the bumpstops only once though.

The front seat was all the way forward and tilted too, no space for any passengers but still a bit of space up front on the seat and footwell and just above the flatpacks but the car would not take anymore weight really.

The first time we went away when she was born we went to Bournemouth and stayed in the Royal Bath Hotel, if anyone knows it you park out the front just off the small island.

When the Valet came out to ask if we needed a hand I just popped the boot, poor chap nearly fainted. I swear to god the Mrs made me pack everything including the Kitchen sink.

Push Chair, Pram attachment, Travel Cot, Bouncer, Massive Electrical Sterilizer etc. etc.  (The hotel had a cot - what were we thinking!)

Five 3 metre 89mm x 38mm lengths of timber (with the boot lid closed). Rough sawn I might add, so it made a bit of a mess with sawdust and shavings.

Wouldn't have made it in my car then - mess not permitted

Yeah, didn't enjoy it much, took ages to vacuum little shavings out of the pile of the carpet. It was either that or ear ache from the wife for delaying the DIY any further.

Fairly although it was only a couple of miles so not massively noticeable

An old 3 door escort I had, I got a greenhouse in from Homebase flat packed, filled to capacity but the weight of glass was unreal the wee 1.4 really struggled to get back home 20 miles away!

I have had a two seat sofa in the back of mine once. Really love the load lugging capacity of the Octavia.

our vRS estate managed to cram in five Jimny alloy wheels & tyres, the front and back seats from the same Jimny, the three door cards, the rear quarter panels, centre console and handbrake surround.

Me too without the castors.  And the three seater with the estate door open but tied down!!

Whilst driving across europe i had a partially full boot....move some stuff to the side and managed to have small make shift bed with one of the seats down...... could of packed more stuff in the estate.....so much space......

Hi,

Full size bath ! in my Scout and for another trip a 6' x 6'6'' French door frame on roofbars + outriggers ! the doors (very heavy) went in the car.

Have yet to find something I can't transport on the car !

Looking at that it's surprising just how much room is taken up in my estate by the variable boot floor. You can see that by where the calor gas bottle is sitting.

Mike

Yep, I take the variable boot floor out for the camping trips to free up the space.

2 beds and mattresses, 1 bed was a wardrobe-desk combo, and a load of junk from the garage. Plus the usual annual move of student son's whole life from Uni. Never fail to be impressed by the capacity to carry. I should be in my mid life crisis TT or Z4 but I don't want to use my wife's Sirion to carry stuff.
