Sounds like your not very keen on it then   I've seen this car in the Flesh and I can tell you it's one of the best modded Vrs's around.   Prime example of what can be done.............Properly

  • I have considered it. If I was single, I'd keep it even though I don't need a diesel what with getting the train full time now.   I do love this car and I'd love to get some more benefit out of some

Ah well Nick - hope you enjoy it in the Yeti section :D

Least they know what air ride is now.....

Uh-oh. That looks disconcertingly practical and do-able. All I'd need to get would be a smaller tank....  :notme:

Nick

Keep me posted once you are selling up sir. I loved your Octavia too.... Wee shame

Still fancy the CHs Nick ;)

I love it but I'm just not using it since moving house and getting a train season ticket.

I would be interested in hearing people's thoughts on what configuration I should sell it in. I don't think it is economically viable to sell it in its current spec:

PD170 running Shark DPF-off map, dyno'd at 212hp / 360lbft.

Southbend stage 2 clutch and single mass flywheel

Darkside EGR delete

Peloquin limited slip diff

Milltek big bore downpipe

AP coilovers

Air Lift slam series air struts

Air Lift performance series rear air springs

VIAIR 444C compressor

SMC water trap

Air Lift Autopilot v2 management

Accuair skinny 5 gallon aluminium tank

BBS CH028 18" wheels with 215 tyres.

18" OEM Zenith winter wheels in light anthracite / gunmetal with winter tyres.

Neuspeed short shifter.

Porsche 996 turbo front brakes on 350mm Brembo Merc discs with modifed centre bore.

Audi S3 rear brakes powder coated to match the Porsches.

Octavia and VRS badges removed.

Professionally painted grill surround

gecleant black glass rear wiper blank.

Recaro Sportster CS seats.

Mk6 flat bottomed multifunction steering wheel

Alpine amp / Kenwood sub.

New turbo under warranty.

New injectors under recall.

I think the most likely sale spec would be sometihng like

PD170 running Shark stage 0 DPF-off map.

Southbend stage 2 clutch and single mass flywheel

Darkside EGR delete

Peloquin limited slip diff

Milltek big bore downpipe

AP Coilovers (set at a sensible height!)

18" OEM Zenith winter wheels freshly refurbed in silver + two new tyes.

Professionally painted grill surround

gecleant black glass rear wiper blank.

LED interior lights

L&K door and dash trims and custom piano black MFD / climatronic surround.

Pioneer speakers, dynamatted doors

New turbo under warranty.

New injectors under recall.

Original DPF downpipe also included, in excellent condition. Never had a single DPF problem. Also, the standard interior is properly immaculate, having been removed some time ago and stored in bags in my house.

Would include the Kenwood DNX520VBT Nav at extra cost. The rest of the bits removed I will be selling separately.

I've not fully worked out the pricing yet, but I'm sure plenty of people on here are familiar with the car and can vouch for the condition of it. Mileage is 79,000, mainly motorway commuting. It's obviously got a full service history - not Skoda main dealer, because I prefer to buy the oil and parts from my Skoda dealer and then watch my trusted mechanic at a reputable independent garage install them, so I know everything has been done right (yes, I'm very fussy and untrusting! :) ). Since I've owned it it's been serviced on a 10,000 intervals but with 507 spec long life oil to look after the engine.

It's a nice car, especially with the common diesel annoyances of EGR, dual mass flywheel and DPF all having been taken out of the equation using quality replacement parts. It also handles far better than a front wheel drive diesel has any right to due to the limited slip diff. The diff and clutch cost a huge amount of money.

My longterm spritmonitor.de monitored fuel consumption is 47.3 (in my sig). With just motorway commuting I easily average over 50mpg over a tank.

The interior is lot classier than most vRSs because of the silver trim having been replaced with genuine L&K piano black parts....

Thoughts? Plan is to sell this and my wife's Corsa and get an B8 A4 Avant petrol 1.8 or 2.0 for her to use. I'll be happy enough driving that at the weekend too I think.

im not overly keen on lowered cars but i take my hat off to u....it looks amazing

Volvo V50 T5?

Lol. Just looking back at this thread and noticed this post.

Actually ended up buying a V50 T5 RDesign a couple of weeks ago. Only took me two years to take your advice. Wonderful engine, extremely comfortable and, being a focus in disguise, handles nicely too.

Holy thread revival! ;)
