Selling my car soon if anyone is interested.

I see you lurking John. Air the Tiguan. DO IT. :D

I didn't realise the consequences of letting you sit in my car Nick.

Who'd have thought that it would lead to all the Yeti'ista wanting to have you hung, drawn and quartered to say the least?

Sounds like your not very keen on it then   I've seen this car in the Flesh and I can tell you it's one of the best modded Vrs's around.   Prime example of what can be done.............Properly

  • I have considered it. If I was single, I'd keep it even though I don't need a diesel what with getting the train full time now.   I do love this car and I'd love to get some more benefit out of some

Ahh what a wonderful thread that was.  :bandit:

Missed that first time round - an interesting read; some of the replies are hilarious!

Some of them are really not open to new ideas or approaches are they?! Suppose it might come from entering into the VAG world for the first time, via the Yeti.

Is it always the first presumption the people are poking fun, trolling or just out to wind them up? And that possibly, just possibly, there can be an open, serious thread about Yeti modification?

Does Lee get flamed about the 1.8TSI modifications and performance enhancements? I never go into the section to notice!

Sorry, this is a bit off-topic. It's just got me wondering.....

I've just read the first page of that Yeti/air thread.  :wall:

Hilarious.

Its a shame there is no way it can be bumped.

Nick has the power ;)

Think it's how Audi design the centre console and the approach to dash design - that's my theory anyway!

That's the only B8 I'd go for too. Share your approach on the Yeti too; this is getting scary ;)

For the Yeti the only things that puts me off is the worse fuel economy due to the aero (or lack of!) but that's unlikely to be a noticeable issue with lower miles. Also the drop everyday boot space compared to the Octy2, although it would be a pretty handy moving vehicle with the seats down.

OZs will be up for sale fairly soon I guess.

Yeah, the B8 just feels too enclosed. The foot well on all modern Audis is significantly smaller than the Mkv Golf / Mk2 Octavia. Weirdly even the 8P A3 had a worse footwell than its A5 platform stable-mates. I think the only B8 I really want is an S4, but that's going to have to go on hold for a while.

Yeti still seems the most likely for now. I'd like to put the Recaros in but I'd be concerned that they'd be a pain to get in and out of because of the high sides combined with a higher vehicle.

I'm currently driving around an A3 TDI and while I agree it's a bit smaller down there, it's a lot quieter in the cabin.

I guess some of that space will be taken up by a good amount of sound insulation?

Prod prod hey Nick prod prod....

The Yeti forum do get defensive and don't like change. Just see the new Yeti thread for that. God help us when the first people order the "outdoor" and the "urban" ones then we'll see the arguments over which one is best. Elitism within Yeti owners perhaps? The air ride thread proved how bad it can get in there. Since I don't own a Octy am I fine to post in here? :giggle: Sorry it's off topic

Good grief, I'm glad I somehow missed the air ride thread. :o

As you say, I can't believe the fuss about the shape of fog lights on the FL yeti.

Ps, I saw a golf yesterday with the same graphics as your fabia (monster energy?). Not as good looking as the furby though

If you are going to do it, you've got to do it well  :)

It's similar to this Bryan. I notice that they appear to do it to a lot of Tiguan's (but not a lot of Yeti's) and it also gets featured in threads which have since been closed.

BTW, and at great risk in daring to point this out, in case you weren't aware or hadn't noticed comparisons in the Yeti section, the Tiguan is the VW more than equivalent of the Yeti!

Oh man, Tiguan shots 1 and 3 in that post are gorgeous.

I have to say, I was really impressed with your R-Line John. Hell of a lot nicer than a Yeti, but decent ones are a bit pricey for me what with other things I've got going on.

Sssshhhh. They will find this post eventually!

If Babs would like to have a play in PS and slam this, he's welcome :)

If better pics are required, I'm more than happy to take some

My head tells me a Tiguan would be a good car for me. Two problems.

1 - It is just there. Neither visually offensive or exciting, just there.

2 - Being used to the spec of a Scout, Tiguans are miserly specced as standard.

Funnily enough, I've just noticed that VW have made available an options list for all their cars meaning people can now add all sorts of extra's.

I'm surprised they didn't pick up on this new fad sooner. ;)

Ha. ha, yes, very true.........

.......but if you're looking second hand it turns out not a lot of people seemed to have ticked many of those new fangled option thingys you talk of! :smirk:
