Printer?

Featured Replies

I currently have an Epson C62 which is starting to show its age, it has lines across pictures and even Epson can't fix it. It still works brilliantly for text mind but I would like to start printing colour.

HP consumables are pretty pricey (for decent ones)...personally I'd go for Epson or Canon, as the print output is as good, but you don't get totally shafted for the cost of cartridges...

Epson R200/R300 (depending on budget) could be a good bet if you don't really need the "all-in-one" functionality.

Aren't HP meant to be very reliable though? I'd happily pay a small premium if the product is of high quality.

Which is how the companies make the money - it's fair enough as long as you go in with your eyes open.

I thoroughly recommend HP printers - the carts are expensive but that's because they contain the print head. Not all printers are like this.

So I bought a duff machine? Oh well, it looked a bargain in my eyes.

Plus, thats something I'm used to by now.

I have an Epson Colour 760 that I have had for 5 years ish, and have only ever used third party inks and never a problem.

I also have an Epson RX600 multifunction unit now, print quality is excellent. Again, I use third party ink (a set of 6 carts for

Newer Epson Printers have a habit of failing if you use non Epson original cartridges!

Only if you use the cheap crap ones - if you get ones from a decent manufacturer (which also include a guarantee not to knacker your printer) then it won't be a problem...
