  • Hello! We've literally just got back to cornwall...The rs did it on the way up with 75 quids worth of fuel on a 460mile trip, so on the way back, it probably cost around 15-20 quid more... haha, we di

Its always in the bl0ody car park!

Don't lower it.

It looks brill exactly as you have it now, it looks OEM, very nice.

Lowering it will make it obvious it has been modded.

Will look better with a slight drop I reckon, not much 20-30mm.

looks good they really suit the car

Quite bling....

Their a little "bling" but the rest of the car has plenty of chrome accents. Suits it well. I want to get the standard oem springs from Skoda its about a 15mm drop but its finding the part numbers!

It looks fine at the moment too doesn't look any higher than it did on 18"s :)

To be honest, I wasn't taken at first...................but having looked at them a few more times, they do suit it.

Drop wise, could go down a bit but not too much otherwise it will ruin the effect and highlight that it is modified.

Their growers! :) As you say I'd want it to look standard still. Next step is the optional bumper spoiler.

Just like the one on the front of this one.

Wow, wonder what an estate with the same mod's would look like? I really liked the style of this one!! But as a model I like the estate better ...

Looks well on the 911 wheels

It's too low though. The Porshe wheels look fab on their own but combined with the lowered ride height it becomes too much.

If only the young lad behind the wheel had his arm out of the window it would finish off the 'slammed'* look.

Go with what you think is right would be my advice, personally I like to be able to get the hosepipe between the tyre and the wing to wash inside the wheel arches :giggle:

* I learnt the meaning of this word in a recent thread over in 'general car chat' which promptly got locked such is the difference of opinion on modifying cars.

Well today was quite a fun day! I managed to source a decent set of ally wheels for my Superb.

I was looking at the Xtremes for the mk3 rs, however I thought I'd wait and get them for an rs when I get round to it.... not changing yet though! I love my v6!

So I bought some replica Audi R8 V10 (Only 4 less on mine :p) alloy wheels. Their only budget tyres for now, their alright if not a little noisier than the conti's.

The ride is exactly the same, the shocks and springs and handling is identical. Very happy with that. :)

Here are some photos, had a few people compliment them today and I think I made the right choice!

I don't hang out in carparks by the way! This is our residents car park. :)

Not one for non standard alloys, as a rule, but these look great.

Could you say where you got them and an idea on cost please?

There are tons of sellers on eBay offering these, starting at about £90 a wheel for 18" going up to £125 for 19". If you search for Skoda Superb 18" you'll see loads. Search for Audi R8 alloys and you'll see even more ;)

Cheers

Drop me a pm, ill recommend you to the guy, plenty on ebay though!

It was certainly better value for money than buying the Xtreme alloys that are on the vRS. But yeah I'm quite happy with my slightly angrier looking Superb!

Looking good Leon :)

Thanks Adam,

I've got some mudflaps to pop on tomorrow. I'm thinking maybe I should of fitted them before I fitted the wheels!!!

They do look great, budget couldn't stretch to those!! :(

Leon a man of your calibre, and you couldn't afford Porsche wheels :D

You change cars more than me :)

It does look great, needs some lows though... AMD essex are offering springs supplied, fitted and alignment for £300 FWD cars and £400 4WD cars... get on it sunshine!

Mines going to get booked in December.

Hi, couldn't help myself but I was just wondering what it would look like a bit closer to the ground ... and this is just a 2 minute Photoshop job ... I really like the wheels!

Have a nice evening!

Please no, don't lower it! It looks great as is, and lowering it would make it worse as evidenced by the other recent evidence on this thread.

Michael

Edit: seeing the Photoshop version is okay, as long as it's subtle. :-)

Have a nice evening!

Thats really smart thanks, it's normally me doing the photoshop for people! H&R do some 40mm springs but I'm not sure it thats too low for day to day use?

On the other option theres the standard 15mm sport springs that skoda supply in the CZ for the 3.6...?

Hi, didn't mean to take your job away ... ;-)

I wouldn't lower it more than an inch or so really, more will probably make it too low and also make it impractical when running over speed bumps or on roough roads. My believe is that it looks best when the wheel has got an even space around it in the wheel well when at rest and with no load to the suspension. But that might be only me ...

Will be interesting to follow you upcoming modifications to it ...

Have a nice day!

Got some flaps delivered today...

The front ones went on fine to fit without a jack because I could steer the wheels out of the way! The rear ones will have to wait, I'm not sure if they will do much but I'd rather have some protection on there than non at all. Excuse the dirty car!
