  • No, but stopping for fuel every twenty miles slows you down.

  • Hello! We've literally just got back to cornwall...The rs did it on the way up with 75 quids worth of fuel on a 460mile trip, so on the way back, it probably cost around 15-20 quid more... haha, we di

The other day I got a stone chip... Not happy! Autoglass assessed it on the phone and it needs to be replaced. *Grumble*

On the plus side, the v6 hasn't used much oil at all since I bought it. I'm surprised!!

have you lowered yet or still undecided

No not lowered yet. Got something new for it next week though! :)

Got myself some pre loved lights today :)

Really impressed to be fair, they make the car look like it's had a mild fl and fade down with the coming home lights.

Followed Silver's how to - simple job as they were already fitted with the resistors...Thanks Roy!

As others might experience the lower strip is slightly brighter, but in reality you can't notice it!

The light is sharp, and adds a new dimension to the rear of the car. Certainly keeps the urge to get a FL off for a while :)

Very happy with my new L&K / Chinese lights...please excuse the dirty car! I did take the opportunity to clean behind the lights at least.

Very nice!

I'm tempted to do the same, how hard were they to fit, are they expensive + any suggestions on how to obtain the lights?

Have to agree with your FL comments too, I'm not tempted to change mine just yet, especially as Skoda UK have dropped the 2.0TSi.

(48 miles return trip into London last night, 41.3 mpg, according to the Maxidot, not bad but the road into town "A13" is quiet & has very few stoplights until the Limehouse area. For the record, the last nights fill-up was 37.5 litres for 302 miles, or 36.6 mpg, not bad for a big old barge with a little 2.0 litre lump & an auto-box.)

They were already wired up when I fitted mine. But the actual fitting was pretty easy and took about 10 minutes each side tops including cleaning etc.. I did loose a cap though :(

I bet the 2.0 turbo is good fun in the Superb, it was really zesty in the Octavia RS I had before!

The 2.0 TSI and the v6 are the best because you get quad pipes on both of them! :p We can let the TDI's even out our carbon foot print haha

If you bought them new they would be -

1x 3TD945095 (near side (left) outer cluster) - £130.00 inc. VAT

1x 3TD945096 (off side (right) outer cluster) - £130.00 inc. VAT

1x 3TD945093 (near side (left) inner cluster) - £60.00 inc. VAT

1x 3TD945094 (off side (right) inner cluster) - £60.00 inc. VAT

4x 50W 6Ohm automotive (non ceramic) resistors - £5.00 each inc. VAT (UK produced high quality resistors, don’t buy cheap Chinese versions).

That's quoted from Silvers thread here - http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/317380-skoda-superb-mkii-pre-facelift-led-rear-light-cluster-conversion/#entry3798959

Thanks for the info Leon, I'll delve into that thread.

The 2.0 turbo is quite fun to drive,  but since it's not 4x4 you can't boot it too hard from standstill, especially in "S" mode.

Cornering & handling are better than I expected, even after comparing with my old '7 Octy 2 vRS.

It's not so quick, but the old car was remapped up to 257 bhp & was somewhat lighter than the Super B.

My (soon to be ex.) SWMBO runs an '11 Octy vRS, also DSG & it's quicker,+ rolls less through the twiddly bits, but the ride is sooo much

worse, on any road surface so it was never the 1st choice for a long trip.

I've found that the Superb is something of a Q car, very few "normal" people recognise it at all & they never expect it to GO at the lights.

I do like it, it's a very relaxing drive & probably better than the Octy 3, if only for the ambiance & sheer niceness of the interior.

I'll be very interested in the next generation Superb, if VW let Skoda have access to all the right toys than it might well be my next new car!

Yeah, I think thats why I like mine so much its less common than a Passat, and it feels special because of it. I do like the mk3 Octy and I'd have another RS I recon, but I'd like to have both... Just a little greedy haha!

Looking good Leon, glad you are happy with them.

Welcome to the LED club, not many of us out there!

Good to know that they fade in and out with the coming / leaving home lights, I don't have this activated on my car so was never able to try it and see.

I told you to be extra careful with those caps :D

Certainly keeps the urge to get a FL off for a while :)

Yeah, at least four days I reckon :p

any links leon to where you bough them from

Look good, and definitely worth it.

I thought the fade in / out was standard? Mine does it and it does look quite good.

Yeah the normal lights do fade in and out but sometimes other LED lights are just on or off. :)

You have three choices:

1) Your local UK Skoda dealer / retailer. Part numbers listed above (genuine) for about £380 (all four clusters).

2) Superskoda (genuine) for £325 delivered (outer clusters only)...

http://www.superskoda.com/de/Skoda/SUPERB-II/Superb-II-limousine-original-Skoda-Autoas-LAURIN-KLEMENT-LED-tail-lights

3) China (all four clusters, genuine, but not E Marked) for about £250 delivered...

Then you need to wire in some resistors to clear the blown-bulb warning.

So even if u buy skoda ones from uk you will still have to fit restsistors or will they have them built in

Hey Adz,

Yeah you will need to put the resistors in until someones found some coding.... It's a simple fix and they do look really smart :)

Unfortunately older MkII Superb's cannot be coded without first upgrading a controller and even then the actual byte 18 coding for the Twindoor is yet to be shared, at least on here.

As Leon suggests adding the resistors yourself is dead easy.

Gave it a clean after finishing work early today. tried to touch up some stone chips on the front but I lost patience!

I'm surprised how many little chips there actually are when you start dabbing with a paint stick.

Anyway, I thought it was time for some more photos. LED , umbrella and clean door sills appreciation! :)
