Not lowered it yet, kinda want to now after seeing everyone's cars at Combe yesterday! I've seen a kit with koni shocks and h&r springs, or just the h&r springs on their own....

Lol it's even worse on Danny P's & Dark Hero's link!

I think the arch gap makes the wheels look normal sized, even though their 19"

Given up covering the plate lol...

Hi Leon

I've got the Koni kit you mention fitted to my 3.6 a few weeks ago - I'll post some pics on the weekend

Guy that would be great if you could. Would love to hear your review on it. Was there anything else to do apart from fit the kit?

Hi

I bought this kit from here http://www.dcperformance.co.uk/cheap/250791/skoda/koni-sport-suspension-kits/1140-1626.html There are a few different options based on saloon/combi/4-2wd/kerb weight, but Dan Garlick was helpful in getting the right one - lead time was about 2 weeks and it came direct from Koni

My local garage fitted it - you need the suspension aligned afterwards and a few fault codes clearing - there were quite a few on mine but most were historic - from when the battery went completely flat a few weeks ago.  Thats it really

Then you can adjust it to your own liking - I think from memory there are 2 full turns of adjustment - you open the bonnet, pull up the plastic cover that fits across the windscreen to get at the top of the turrets, and you just pop on a little adjuster key that comes with the kit - I spent a couple of hours playing around - fully firm setting is horrible - completely unusable - I ended up leaving it half a turn from the softest setting.  The softest setting is already much firmer that the stock suspension

Is it better?  Absolutely - lots - no "wallowing", gives you much more confidence going into corners - its improved the handling no end.  Does it "bottom out" - occasionally - when you go too fast over speed bumps (I imagine you'd get this with just the springs and the stock suspension as well).  Is it for everybody?  Nooooo,  I don't think so.  I think it depends what you've come from and what you're used to/prefer.  This is my first ever Skoda and first ever estate, and I like everything else about it but the suspension always seemed way to soft -  My other current car is a Nissan GTR which has a very hard suspension, and previous history includes BMW M5, Jaguar S Type R, Impreza Turbo and a 911, none of which "wallowed"

The springs also make the car look more normal in terms of ride height....again, I think It's just what you're used to but in my eyes the standard car has huge gaps between the tyres and the wheel arch....

I've made a few other mods - I'll post some pics on the weekend

Thanks Guy, I didn't realise how easy it was to adjust the set up. Is it just the fronts you can adjust then?

Hi Leon

I've just posted a new project thread in this section that shows pics of the suspension adjustment (It's just the fronts)

First time I checked the oil in my car since I bought it, and it's not used a single drop?! Popped down to the local dealer today to check out what stock they had. Seen an L&K with the LED pre fl lights, gotta say they did look nice. The Cappuccino beige didn't really get me going though!

Here's my cleanish engine cover. :)
