Best vRS MKIII deals so far

That is not strictly correct. If you hand back the car it must be returned with a registered number plate. Re-registering the car with a 63 or 14 plate is of course possible, but servicing documents and the original V5C will show that the car has been re-registered and this will make it potentially more difficult to sell. Do not forget that although you own the plate, the Finance company owns the car, and they want it to retain it's value. Many lease companies exclude changing of the Vehicle Registration (in the same way some exclude fitting winter tyres & tuning boxes), so unless you register a private plate when new, you cannot always add one or change back to standard afterwards.

If you look at the terms of the finance it says (or last time I looked) that using a personal plate is fine, subject to you notifying the finance company and paying a small paperwork fee upon putting the plate on and taking the plate off, pretty sure it was £35 each time?

  • Hi there, I managed to get approx. £1k off list and got a good price for my diesel octy vrs fl hatch.

I have no idea why you would order a vrs at the quoted prices when you could have a golf gti for the same money.

Apart from being under spec'd as standard they arent suited to the majority of people buying an octavia. Not really a family car is a small 'hot' hatch. Anyway if your looking at golf's then the leon os better spec'd and cheaper plus better looking imo

Nothing new there. In the past they've had finance offers that only applied to the less popular models - petrol superbs for example.

THey did the same if i recall with the fl vrs,the offers were on petrol models only as the tdi's were selling themselves,

the equivalent Golf GTD lists at £26220 with solid paint and as I want a white VRS that would add another £255 so £26475 ... I have negotiated a VRS for £22018 on 0% finance (Golf is 5.9%) and the VRS spec is just as good if not higher than the Golf :giggle: . Total price for VRS £22018 after 3 years, total price for Golf in same period £29523 ..... that sounds the same to me

perhaps not everyone wants the smaller Golf GTi. :)

I posted figures on here before incorporating depreciation etc and you'll see there's nothing in it cost wise.

Well, the Golf & Octavia are both MQB "platform" cars but the Octavia is bigger, cheaper & it has a boot.......

For us it's a no-brainer, the GTi is a great car but much too small to be our only vehicle.

I'm still not sure if a Mk3 Octy Estate can replace my Superb Twin Door & my Mondeo Wagon, but if we decided to spend more

cash on a smaller GTi, I'd have to keep the Mondeo for our European vacations & for all the times when we need real carrying capacity.

The GTI is a great car, but it will not comfortably fit a family of 4 and a dog. It will also struggle to fit a sofa or a couple of bikes in the back, and GTI's are a little too common where I live. Nobody near me owns a current model Octavia, and I like that.

Full price for new 2.0 TDi Elegance estate with solid paint and spare wheel.

Did however get guaranteed £17.2k for my Blackline DSG estate (62 plate 10k miles), leaving me with £1100 to bank once the deposit is dealt with. I think thats a v good part ex.

In terms of freebees not much being given away, will get a set of rubber mats and thats about it.

Im happy though, I tend to PCP my cars and historically havent kept one longer than 18 months (and use it a bit for work) so its more down to agreeable montly cost and low deposit than all out discount; would think differently if I were a cash/HP buyer.

Agreed. Ran a MK6 2.0 TDi GT 5 door as a company car until Oct last year, had 1 child and a medium size dog at the time and it definitely was not big enough, managed but only by jamming stuff into every available orifice which wasnt ideal for the dog or really all that safe for my son had we had an accident.

In my MK2 Octavia same kind of scenario (though 2 kids and no dog now) I dont think ive yet had to leave the luggage cover open, the boot is so vast.

Sorry the part ex bit isnt quite right. Basically had about £1300 equity in the car between what its worth and what i owe. Theyve agreed to guarantee the equity; assume if by some miracle the margin is larger come time to collect the new one I'll be slightly better off but i'll get the £1300 regardless.

Sorry for talking non-Vrs in this post but, I just can't help myself, I've been back about ten pages looking for the same kinda post on Elegances.
