Just picked one up and want to know some good mods? Already know about the bigger brakes and remaps etc but not looking to do anything like that for a while.

Thanks,

Briskoda badge? :)

Have a look in the project journals. I can tell you there is nothing but pure inspriation there. I've fallen in love with so many of the cars

Good mods for what?

Speed, handling, comfort, posing etc etc?

Tbh the only things I know I want to do are refurb the wheels, then get a new intercooler, clutch, exhaust and then remap it. Im undecided about lowering it at the minute as the roads I drive are bad and ive had bad experiences with things breaking.

then you already have a big enough list to save for :)

to be honest if you are looking just a remap then there is no need to upgrade the intercooler and clutch

I've run a Jabbasport custom map good for 177bhp on my car for the last 4 years and 90,000 miles on the standard clutch and intercooler and had no problems whatsoever.

Wheels is a good idea as it's relatively cheap and can really change the look of the car - i've seen white, gold, bronze, grey, yellow, red, green, purple...

Personally i'd get a rear anti roll bar .

Jabba do one of Whiteline do an adjustable one both of which reduce body roll and tie the car down massively compared to standard

I do want a remap, but I thought I may as well wait until I get the intercooler and other bits. The cars silver so ill go with black wheels. Which anti roll bar is better?

Of course it's all your choice but like i said i've done 90,000 remapped miles on the original clutch (added to 40,000 standard miles) and never had it slip.

If you get a decent map it should last fine, it tends to be poorly written plug & play maps with high torque figures that cook clutches, along with bad driving style.

A front mount will have no affect on the map other than keeping intake temps cooler for longer reducing heat soak in the summer when really REALLY attacking.

The Jabba bar one is thicker and stiffer and has more of an effect but the Whiteline one is about half the price and is adjustable (although why you'ev not just stick it on the hardest setting and leave it there i dunno :D)

If it was me i'd book in at Jabba for a customer map and RARB fitting all in one go - they'd probably cut you a discount

They are only over in Crowland too - www.jabbasport.com

Thanks for the help. I might do, what sort of bhp and torque figures should I expect? Also I need it to maintain the mpg or improve ideally, is that generally the case?

Decent remap will result in around 170bhp. Providing you drive the same then you will maybe get a small increase in MPG

Ok brilliant thanks. That will probably get done sooner rather than later then. What about visual and engine bay mods? Ive also seen a couple with the big mouth front bumper and number plate on the side, is that fairly easy to do?
