Waterproof Seat Covers?

Featured Replies

I'm about to migrate from the Roomster forum to the Superb forum with the delivery of my Superb Estate next week and I have (as you do) been looking at all those accessories that you *need* to get :).

One that is more required than others is a set of good, properly waterproof seat covers. I (and my passengers) tend to get into the car in dripping wet drysuits while driving between rivers on whitewater kayak trips. For my Roomster I have some Halfords Action "waterproof" seat covers, which are about as water resistant as your average t-shirt! With all the leather, electrics etc of my new Superb, I feel that something half decent is required!

I have had a look around the forums and can't see anything that looks properly waterproof.

I have seen really good heavily plasticised waterproof covers on kayak shuttle busses before, but its really hard to tell online how good something is. I found these:

which claim to be PVC lined (sounds good) and are airbag compatible (essential), but obviously havent actually seen them in the flesh.

I have also heard that Town and Country are good, but again haven't seen them.

Any personal experiences of really good waterproof covers?

Thanks! :)

Have got Town & Country on the Defender which are really good, but I don't have side airbags to worry about on that - which you'll need to consider / worry about on the Suberb.

I got T&C ones recently for my elegance because like you I get in and out with wetsuits. they fit better after adding longer Velcro straps, if there is a larger size go for it. I think I got standard. the rear one is definitely too small at standard and large would be better. Summing up- not brilliant but low cost and need adapting and refitting lots. very untidy to look at as well. If I was doing it again I would buy Skoda.

Thanks for the feedbck; thats useful to know about the T&C ones.

Didn't realise that Skoda made waterproof covers... anyone used any?

Thanks!
