Ben's Fabia vrs

Featured Replies

Well hello everyone, picked up a Fabia vrs the other day.

106000mls, cruise control, lowered on springs but standard shocks so its very bouncy. These will definitely be changed soon!!!! remapped, only found out this when monitoring the boost on a app on my phone and a bluetooth obd2 dongle.

The car is a little rough around the edges but gives me a nice project. unfortunately the pics i have got aren't the best but you'll get the idea.

I'll keep updating this as i go along. The first purchase has already been made, nothing special bar a standard air filter. This was because it had a dreaded green cotton one. i thought as the forum helped me with the air filter problem i'd sign up as a freedom member :)

what plans hmmmm, sort suspension with either coilovers or a good suspension kit, colour code the door handles, remove door strips.

Not sure on what else just yet though!!

Firstly the green cotton air filter as i think it is a big risk.

Now for the car pics. not the best like i said but i will take better ones very soon

Looks low for springs dude, wonder if they are chopped springs like mine had as the bounce on them threw you out of the seat!

It could be as its horribly bouncy. Chucks me out of the seat!!!

Hopefully very soon I'll sort it as the handling isn't good!!!

What would people advise on the suspension front? Are ap coilivers bouncy??

Mine was like that you nearly touched the roof! I put JOMs on mine, abit bouncy but more solid bounce than soft like on chopped springs. I do 2000+ miles a month and the JOMs do not bother me but I know ap get a good review. Get a whiteline rarb though and set it to stiffest if you want to sort the handling, worth doing it makes it feel so tight now when cornering

Looks nice :)

think i might give them JOMs a try then. i do about 1300 a month so need less bounce. At least if i don't like them i haven't wasted £400.

i was thinking of getting a RARB as my track car is off the road at the mo until my mate moves into his house so may take it on track to see how it is

when i had finished taking these i thought i'd spend 10 mins on claying a little nit as i was going out

so this photo shows how small of an area i did and how much dirt is actually on/in the paint work

Well done some things to the vrs, unfortunately i haven't got any pictures of them.

So what i've done since last updating this thread:

AP sports suspension (not coilovers),

Fitted the PD150 turbo,

Faboka vrs remap - Feels like a completely different car (I'll do a proper write up soon)

New brakes all round,

Got to fit a lower engine mount, new ball joints and track rod ends

So today i thought i'd see how it felt so went around the evo triangle

How did it go mate? Not been up there in my Fabia? There's always some right nutters up there lol!

it actually went ok, although the wind was horrible and i think ive justified my purchase of new track rod ends hehe!! needs an arb as it does understeer but didn't do too bad. Need to try it in the dry really as out of corners it broke traction

Think my last trip was in July. Had a nice clear run all the way round. Amazing as always.

Very nice, just got a silver one myself. Rarb and cupra bushes being fitted this week should make it handle better. I like your spoiler painted black.

What do you think of that suspension kit mate?

  • Author

I think its alright actually, considering how cheap they are. BUT this is going from springs and 4 leaking standard shocks, nothing was as bad as them!!!

Good stuff, I have PD150 head bolts sat in front of me too :)

Great progress so far. Think I need pd150 head bolts now.

Where's the evo triangle?
