Also was told it was a 5 hour job, and allot of parts need removing to get to th egr, it's getting sorted under warranty, and by the way for warranty work would a vw, seat or Audi garage do it too?

Car went in at 09:00 this morning, guy said expect it back at 14:00 or there abouts, so at 2 get a call, cars ready been tested and is back to normal, when I went back was told if it wasn't under warranty it would be £30 an hour labour and £200 for the part so at least it's sorted and back to normal, and they even washed it before I got it back

So they told you the work was covered under warranty (verbal contract), did the work and then they claimed it wasn't covered and charged you £350 for a car wash? I know you probably just wanted your car back on the road, so you could crack on with work, but I'd be straight on to Trading Standards, writing to the dealer principle for a full refund and sending a copy to Skoda UK. Maybe that's just me....

Artichoke, I think all United 11 is saying is that the guy told him that had it not been under warranty, it would have cost him £350. However, it was under warranty, job done, and free car wash too.

However as an OCD (obsessive compulsive detailer) - I wouldn't have thanked them for washing my car -ouch, think of the holograms!

Please correct me if I'm wrong, United 11

yes he just told me what the price would be for a car not under warranty, of course I didn't pay anything, even if it wasn't under warranty I would have still started as its not my fault they make cars with parts that will go wrong,
