Cheers, I prefer the black wheels so much more to the silver ones.

Yeah, I always promise myself I won't get too deep with a. Car but then it gets a bit out of control, need to get it ready for the ring next Easter.

Brakes are next on the list of things to buy

What brakes are you going for?

Was originally thinking porsche 996 kit, but then costs got a bit high, then ttrs but servicing cost of discs and pads got a bit mental so now thinking of s3/r32 345mm fronts and 310mm rears.

Reasonably priced and should up the stopping power considerably, as they are meant to stop 240 bhp on this chassis which is similar to my output anyway.

Do you mind posting a video of what your car sounds like? Just really curious what the sound is like with an induction kit and aftermarket exhaust.

You have an aftermarket dpf back? Been hunting something ages what is it?

I will try and get a video of how it sounds soon, will borrow my mates go pro to get it done.

The dpf pipe is miltek and back from that is a poweflow custom 2.5" with 1 box and the oem pipes welded on.

This is my fav car on here, such great progress all the time :) would love to hear the exhaust aswell!

Thanks. A real compliment when you say it's your favourite.

Exhaust will come when I get chance of a vid tho, hopefully soon enough.

re Brakes try Ian at Godspeed http://www.godspeedbrakes.co.uk/

Cheers. I'll have a look there.

Thanks for the info one more thing... Did you send someone your ecu to do since you dpf removald yourself? As ive been hunting someone to send mine to as im begrudged paying for my dpf opened emptied and rewelded when I could do it haha

We know a bloke that can do remaps, so I gave him my ecu for a few hours, he went home, mapped it then brought it back to put back on the car again.

It's better if you can get the proper miltek decat pipe tbh, much faster flowing than the original pipe.

There is a place in burton on Trent that can do it called CC Tuning. Think they charge 750 for the pipe, map and installation. Looking at 230 bhp and 500nm torque.

Cant get the quote function to work

Re Godspeed & brakes call Ian, web site is a bit basic & way behind what he can do. He has full machining facilities so can machine discs, bells carriers etc to suit

re remap by a bloke down the road taking the ECU & doing it, you get what you pay for !!!! Your car isn't even std so it will be a stab in the dark, spend some dosh & get it mapped on a roiling road. Even with a std car running it on the rollers will check its running properly before you start & the mapper can usually tailor the map more to what you want

The person that wrote the map used one from a 2.0tdi 170 that was written on a RR. At the time I needed a map to be able to get the car running due to the dpf delete an not wanting to put the dpf light on, I will eventually get it on a RR to be mapped properly but for the time being this is sufficient.

And the website is a bit basic, doesn't even mention anything to do with the mk5 chassis!

I'll have a look when i can get round to it.

Godspeed build whatever you want, just ring up & chat options , that's the beauty of them. Ive seen Ap 6 pots behind a std Octavia Mk 1 VRS wheel

Good weekend this weekend, got my car in pieces. And I mean literally in pieces, with the whole front suspension apart from the driveshafts and steering rack off the car. The result of which was the addition of new Eibach rollbars front and rear, Superpro anti lift kit and camber adjustable top mounts.

The results have been up and down. The rollbars and ALK are amazing, really improved the road holding of the car. The top mounts are not so good, had to remove them as they knocked like fook. So they have been removed an standard ones put back until I can get some new ones this week before tyres on Thursday.

Looks like a proper ballache to do the front ARB, dropping the subframe! Was it difficult to remove the old wishbone bushes? What's the Superpro dogbone mount bush like? Have you reused all the bolts or got new ones? Sorry for all the questions, got this job to do on mine and never done it before!

Wasn't as bad as I thought. Always good if you've got a few mates about tho to help. The wishbone bushes were really easy lol, a bit of wd40 and a wiggle and they came off! The dogbone mount is fairly harsh, but it does it's job well and keeps the car unde control a bit more. And all of the bolts are the original ones from the car all direct part replacements.

My tracking needs doing, but that's a job for Thursday for when I'm off for new tyres and my new camber and caster adjustable top mounts will be here to set it correctly.

I got these ones

I thought that stretch bolts couldn't be reused?

Can't wait to get my ALK and dogbone mount insert fitted. My car's mapped and it just spins the wheels if I go anywhere near full throttle in this weather!

Nice car drove by this on the way to work :)

Get em on, well worth it. All the bolts were re used, not had a problem with any of them.

Cheers, pretty hard to miss when it's bright yellow!!

Got new tyres up front yesterday and fully aligned, camber set all round to 1.2 degrees negative for speed in the corners and it's a lot better on the Dunlops than the Falkens I had Before.

Also the top mounts I installed made the car a good 10mm lower so needs to be raised up a bit as it's catching the arch with the tyre.
