brake warning light

Featured Replies

2002 1.9 SDI octy brake warning light comes on randomly had brakes checked all superb checked fluids and are full, doesn't happen under braking. Just sometimes when I start the engine and also when driving, no flashing just solid wierd

Its either handbrake warning or fluid warning. If the handbrake is off properly, and your fluid is at the right level, you'll probably be looking at either the handbrake switch or fluid level sensor.

If you have the pad wear sensors on the front ns wheel it could be a loose connection of that, worth a look and an easy fix

Looks like I am gunna have to only owned the thing 2 weeks second issue with the brakes

Easy fixes all of these things!

Either top up fluid

Put new handbrake switch in

Cut out the cr@py join in the pad wear wires and replace

Even if you did all of this it'd only take 3-4 hours tops

Thank for ideas

That light is for pad wear. If the pads are good, fit new warning wires. Nearside front and offside rear

Had the same thing turned out to be rear left rear caliper sticking

Thanks guys

I had this on another make of car and it was the wire for a brake wear sensor had rubbed against a sharp edge and was intermittently connecting to ground as I went over bumps or cornered.
