Picking up my new vRS next week!

Featured Replies

'Evening all,

Today saw me signing on the line for a new vRs estate. Thankfully the dealer had a stock car arrive at the end of last week so no waiting for build and delivery.

Pity not my first choice of colour but I'm happy with the silver since they are doing the black pack grill and mirrors for me.

It's going to be a looooong week!

oooh! good choice sir! Welcome to the fold.  Black pack as well? I'm getting mine blacked tomorrow.

Yep retro fitted black pack so no shiny roof rails though but not sure I'd notice!

Thinking about getting the wheels powder coated as its sitting on Pictoris wheels at the moment. Going to see what it looks like after the grill and mirrors are done before I decide.

One of Skoda's original press shots of the vRS showed a Race Blue car with black pack and silver Pictoris.. I think it looked pretty good.

EDIT: Can only find the front shot at the mo - must have been in AE mag.skoda-octavia-vrs-diesel-1.jpg

Yeah I think I've seen all the pics going! Too many colour/wheel combinations. Only took the silver as it was sitting, but saying that I saw a picture of a silver hatch with the silver Gemini wheels and that look good.

Only 7 sleeps to go!

Congrats pal, I hope you enjoy it :-)

Picking my Octavia vRS Estate mk3 on Monday !!

Standard spec in Race Blue/ grey black and at a fantastic price , so pretty pleased about that!!

Role on Monday p.m.

I noticed a lot of dealers are selling off their first round of demonstrators now, so if you after after Blue + Pictoris with a slightly non-standard build (spare included etc.) then there's bargains to be had!

Mine is brand new, not demo - waited two weeks to arrive from UK compound .

NOW WAITING PICK UP MONDAY.

Oh! And a great trade in for my current Octavia vRS hatch- £2K above most Skoda or VW dealerships.

Yeah I asked about their demo but can't get the o% or 3 years free servicing as its on new registrations only! I was just lucky a stock car they ordered when the books opened had turned up the day before I went for a test drive!

Hope we both enjoy the years of motoring a head . I got as you have mentioned , 0% and 3 years free servicing at a great buy new price.

What is yours TSI OR TDI ,WHAT COLOUR?

Dealer was only offering white or blue , think I would have liked black but hat would have meant a lead-time wait until  Oct or Nov resulting in a lower trade-in for mine.

Fingers crossed!

Silver tdi estate for me. Wouldn't have picked silver from the brochure but once the mirrors and grill are done in black it should look pretty good!

Dealer I spoke to warned me it would probably be February or march if it was a factory order as they already had 15 orders waiting to be accepted by the factory - no way I was waiting that long!

SILVER SOUNDS GOOD, WITH YOUR MODS APPLIED.

Mine is a TSI ,SO IT WILL BE INTERESTING TO TRADE OUR EXPERIENCE WITH CAR AND DEALERS AT BOTH ENDS OF THE UK.

I'm based in Wiltshire.

You know that in "internet speak" caps lock means you're shouting right? :)

You're lucky you guys got your cars so quickly, I'm one of those who has to wait until retirement.

Having read a good few posts on here I certainly feel lucky that I'll be getting the car so quickly. In fact I could have it this Monday but there was a small delay getting the windows tinted! Gutted I'm having to wait a few extra days, I don't think I could've coped waiting a few extra months!

I just hope that Skoda sort out their build times for those that are waiting.

8 weeks to go for my VRS. Seems like a long old wait.

I know we are lucky, sorry to hear that retirement is your target date. When is that?

That is painful.

Hope the time goes quickly for you.

What are you getting-spec ,colour etc.

Most vRS estates available now were built to accomodate early demand for the new car, for demos and showroom vehicles. SUK chose the spec I believe dealers had no input at all.

I am sure they are all base spec, with Pictoris alloys and some have DSG.

If you like the wheels (personally i dont) and are not bothered about factory extras and can get a good deal they are worth a stab but otherwise its worth waiting on a factory order.

Each to their own I guess, when you can afford the bells and whistles or indeed need them.

Spec is good anyway, id just want the standard anthracite Gemini's as Im not a fan of the pictoris wheels.

It's all about choices - would be a boring place if we didn't get to make any.

Only options I wanted have/can be retrofitted (except the canton sound system but the standard isn't all that bad anyway) but my old x-type needed taxed and tested in the next month and probably nearly £1k spending to strip, clean and rebuild the brakes and replace two rather worn front shocks as well as a few other minor bits and bobs so I'm very happy I don't have to wait!

I had the same thoughts and the dealer thought the same but haveingseen a silver hatch with silver geminis on Simpsons skoda Facebook page I'm going to wait and see what I think once I get the keys. Possibly order the "standard" wheels and have them for summer use and keep the Pictoris wheels for winter as they're easier to repair!

Mine is heavily specced so delivery will probably be next year (not that I'm retiring then, mind you!). :)

That's what you get when you want a freshly launched car with all the bells and whistles. When I ordered my Leon it took exactly 2 months from order to delivery. Good times...

The volume of options doesn't seem to affect the wait time.

I ordered all options except pano roof, tow bar and crew protect and car was built last week. However from what I've read if the only option you had chosen happened to be the pano roof this could add quite a delay to the order.
