FABIA vRS MK1 CAR DOOR SIDE MOULDING STRIPS

Featured Replies

HI GUYS THIS IS MY 1ST POST ON BRISKODA, I RECENTLY PURCHASED A SKODA FABIA 1.9 TDI VRS MK1. I WAS JUST WONDERING IF ANYONE KNOWS IF ITS POSSIBLE TO REMOVE THE DOOR MOULDINGS? OR IF ANYONE HAS DONE SO AND COULD POST ANY PICTURES? ARE THEY ON CLIPS OR ARE THEY STUCK ON? I THINK IT WOULD LOOK BETTER WITHOUT THEM PERSONALLY. IF ANYONE HAS ANY PICTURES IT WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED! THANKS, JOSH

Stuck on, but you may find paint problems if you remove them. You do get more scrapes on your doors as well.

Plenty of cars with them removed, danham's is one with pics on here.

Thinking of colour coding mine, will look much better and still retain some protection :)

Yes they are stuck on just like your CAPS LOCK.

Whats needed to remove these guys? Just heat them and use fishing line to cut the glue?

A kettle, fishing wire, auto glym tar remover and alot of elbow grease is what i used.

Yep, that's all you need. Maybe some meths or petrol to help remove the sticky residue

Actually I jet washed alot of the glue off before I used tar remover it got alot of the chunky bits off.

I used petrol on the glue on mine :)

LOOKS AWESOME!

Isn't it only the silver models that have dodgy paint under the side strips??

Apparently so John. You could get lucky though :)

You still have your Capitals lock on

It is considered rude to shout on forums

Stop tempting me to remove them. :D

Though i am tempted to get the Golf Mk4 side strips to attach like someone else (FunkyFab??) did. B)

Just remove them :) looks much cleaner!

Quiet you. :D

Quiet you. :D

Then if there is paint bubbles you can opt for the golf ones :P

Am I the only one on this site that prefers the look with the strips still on!?!! I think they keep the lines of the car going better on a car with black rims...  In fact, I plan on painting mine gloss black soon!

I'm with you Alex, helps break up all that color IMO

I would replace with the MK4 rub strips, I might do :wonder:

I can see where your coming from but it gives a much smoother look and follows the lines of the bumpers better :)
